Yet Another Study Confirms Gay Life Expectancy 20 Years Shorter. Comments:

CAPISCE 2012/12/11 14:05:48
WASHINGTON, DC, June 6, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A new study which analyzed tens of thousands of gay obituaries and compared them with AIDS deaths data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), has shown that the life expectancy for homosexuals is about twenty years shorter than that of the general public. The study, entitled “Gay obituaries closely track officially reported deaths from AIDS”, has been published in Psychological Reports (2005;96:693-697).

In an interview with lifesitenews.com, Dr. Paul Cameron, the President of the Family Research Institute and the scientist who headed the study, indicated that he was not at all surprised by the findings. Rather he said that it only served as further confirmation for what had long been known and other studies have already shown.

One such study was conducted in Vancouver British Columbia and published in 1997 in the International Journal of Epidemiology (Vol. 26, 657-61: http://ije.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/26/3/657). It almost exactly mirrors the findings of Cameron’s research.

The Vancouver study was conducted by a team of pro-gay researchers, who, upon finding that pro-family advocates were using the results of their research as confirmation for their beliefs about the risks of the homosexual lifestyle, issued a statement trying to curb this unintended after-effect. “The aim of our work,” said the research team, “was to assist health planners with the means of estimating the impact of HIV infection on groups, like gay and bisexual men, not necessarily captured by vital statistics data and not to hinder the rights of these groups worldwide. Overall, we do not condone the use of our research in a manner that restricts the political or human rights of gay and bisexual men or any other group.”

Despite their attempts to downplay the practical consequences of their research, it is difficult to ignore that the study concluded with the statement that “under even the most liberal assumptions, gay and bisexual men in this urban centre [Vancouver, BC] are now experiencing a life expectancy similar to that experienced by all men in Canada in the year 1871.” Corresponding almost exactly with Cameron’s study, the Vancouver study indicated that “life expectancy at age 20 years for gay and bisexual men is 8 to 20
years less than for all men

Dr. Cameron indicated that he hoped the sobering results of the new study, in addition to such similar past studies, would finally cause a “reexamination”, saying that “our society needs to reassess what it’s doing with those who engage in homosexuality.”

The schools, he said, are doing a fine job educating children about dangerous activities such as smoking and the use of illegal drugs. But they are increasingly teaching that homosexuality is the same as heterosexual behaviour. “It certainly isn’t,” said Cameron. “Here we have homosexual activity, which, literally, is much worse than smoking,” and yet the schools continue to teach that it is normative and safe behaviour.

Cameron dismissed accusations of bias on account of his pro-life, pro-family beliefs, indicating that if the scientific objectivity of his research methods as well as the correspondence with the results of other similar studies isn’t evidence enough, his selection by the highly prestigious British medical journal and the Canadian medical association journal as a peer reviewer should serve as sufficient proof of his commitment to scientific integrity.”[The British and Canadian journals] wouldn’t even think of using someone that they didn’t think was both skilled and fair at analyzing and recommending which articles ought to be published” said the doctorPhysician Says Science of Medical Consequences of Homosexual Behaviour is Being Trumped by Political Agenda

Look on the brighter side of this. They have 20 years less to spread their disease and their perverted lifestyle on others.

Life expectancy of a smoker, gangster, drug user, alcoholic............. I believe people are directly affected by the lifestyles they live. People make their choices in life and if their choices only affect themselves than they are free to make them.

Information that is biased to begin with. How can u compare homosexuals with Aids to Heterosexuals without Aids. Compare the life expectancy of Homosexuals without Aids to Heterosexuals without Aids and the figures are about the same. Compare Heterosexuals with Aids to Homosexuals with Aids again figures about same. Compare Homosexuals with Hiv to Heterosexuals with Hiv and guess what? Again they are about the same.

but the point is the only sub group which has a increasing Aids rate is Homosexual. According to the "advocate" Aids in Gay men increased 22% last year(alarming number) while all other sub groups, including IV drug users has remained stable.

U are wrong. One of the highest new groups is heterosexual AA women. While homosexual rate of increase may be increasing so are several other groups. What does any of that have to do with this biased study. It is still the risky behavior that causes the infection not that fact that they are part of a certain group. Homosexuality does not increase your likelihood of being infected. Risky sexual behavior does. All the rate increase proves is that certain people engage in the risky behavior of unprotected sex more often.

I've only had one really good gay friend, (that I know of, anyway), and sadly he died in 1999 from complications from AIDS. He was 55.

This only applies to gay men. And is missing many variables.

Gay women are actually much safer than straight women from dangerous STDs and are the least likely to get AIDS.

So by your logic, all women should go gay.

And you realize, that no sex is safe. And that men in general are more promiscuous than women, so when men have sex with other men, they're likely to have more sex with more partners. Not to mention since same-sex marriage is illegal, it means keeping gay men single for longer. And the importance safe-gay sex isn't taught in most highschools, meaning younger gay men might not even understand the risks. And since many gay men suffer from abuse and hate and rejection, leading to depression which of course leads to self-hating and destructive behavior. It's no wonder.

"Not to mention since same-sex marriage is illegal, it means keeping gay men single for longer."

Since when does a piece of paper keep people together? Ever heard of this little civil matter called divorce?
  • Rave william... 2012/12/12 04:46:26

People are less likely to simply break up over night if they are married, it's takes time, effort to file divorce papers. So people in marriage are more likely to be together for a longer period of time at least.

Well...I suppose this is a good place to pen my daily impromptu limerick.

While we as a society truly don't care who you screw
The whole of the world must know it to be true

Or how much you flaunt it
