You Global Warming Alarmists always shriek that "weather is not climate" (for example, a cold winter.)
But sometimes you shriek that "weather is climate" (for example, a hurricane.)
That's the way it is with psuedo-science.
It all depends on which Alarmist is doing the shrieking.
And who's paying him to do it.
The Alarmist's Creed:
"I am a Global Warming Alarmist. And weather isn't climate. Unless it is. It depends. Sometimes it is. But sometimes it isn't. I'll you tell you which. When it isn't. And when it is. Or not."
Yesterday, climate change killed at least 32 American citizens. Is it time to take it seriously now?

Last year, we had an unprecedented rash of early season tornadoes that killed several hundred people, now we're having another.
Texas also had the worst fire season in it's history, and is expected to have even more fires as the eight year long drought continues. This year it will be far worse, because there isn't any snow in the northern states to melt and flow south filling aquifers and reservoirs on it's way. There will be a severe shortage of water to fight the fires.
These events were predicted as long ago as the early 70s, and their cause is agreed upon by 97% of the scientists involved in tracking and research. NASA, NOAA, and international scientific organizations are in complete agreement as the the causal effect of carbon dioxide pumped into the atmosphere by human activity.
People are now dying every year because a political faction is repulsed by the facts. It's no different than the Pope imprisoning Galileo for discovering that the Bible is wrong about where the center of the universe is, except of course for all the dead people.
It's impossible to blame a specific tornado on climate change, but that isn't true of weather trends. Today we know that the ten hottest years on record are the last ten years, we know that weather events like tornadoes and hurricanes are powered by heat, and we know that heat is directly related to co2 in the atmosphere. We also know that we pump billions of tons of co2 into the atmosphere annually.
It is moronic to make the claim that those facts are unrelated, there is not a shred of evidence to support the idea.
I'd like to ask the climate change deniers to please put away their tinfoil hats so we can begin the process of healing our planet.

Over 650 scientists have put their names to a US Senate Minority report that challenges the contention of the UN’s International Panel on Climate Change that there is a scientific “consensus” on the causes of global warming.
Set to be released within the next 24 hours, the report features contributions from hundreds of prominent researchers, including current and former IPCC scientists, who are now speaking out in opposition of the UN’s stance on climate change.
The Senate report is an updated version of a 2007 release, with over 250 more names added, highlighting how widespread dissent continues to grow in the scientific community to the alleged “consensus” that the modern warming is primarily man-made and is a crisis.
In comparison, twelve times fewer – just 52 scientists – participated in the much touted IPCC Summary for Policymakers meeting in April 2007. Climate scientists allied with the IPCC were recently caught citing fake data to make the case that global warming is accelerating.
The new Senate report will feature new peer-reviewed scientific studies and analyses refuting man-made warming fears.

Of course the fact that the establishment likes to engage in regular mass public deception by claiming the debate about global warming is over and any dissent is tantamount to holocaust denial doesn’t bode well for potential media coverage of the report, unlike the ongoing UN climate conference in Poznan which is being lavished with endless media attention about the need for a global carbon tax to save the planet from the evils of plant food (CO2).
The self-proclaimed “consensus” behind man-made global warming is one enforced by threats, intimidation and ignorance, as highlighted by media coverage of last year’s UN meeting in Bali, where skeptical climate scientists were shunned and ignored for daring to express an opposing viewpoint.
Following the Bali resolution to impose a global carbon tax, over one hundred prominent scientists signed a letter dismissing the move as a futile bureaucratic scheme which would diminish prosperity and increase human suffering.
Hundreds more skeptical scientists met in Manhattan last February at the first International Conference on Climate Change to discuss the side of the climate change debate that the establishment media prefers to pretend does not exist.
Did the mainstream media even acknowledge these events? Not at all, because they challenge the sacred cow that scientists uniformly agree on man-made global warming.
As we have previously reported, less than half of all published scientists endorse what has been dubbed the “consensus view”.
However, President Barack Obama yesterday vowed to end global warming “denial”.
The following quotes, listed on the website of the US Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, provide a taster of what will be contained in the upcoming Senate report:
“I am a skeptic…Global warming has become a new religion.” - Nobel Prize Winner for Physics, Ivar Giaever.
“Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization nor receiving any funding, I can speak quite frankly….As a scientist I remain skeptical.” - Atmospheric Scientist Dr. Joanne Simpson, the first woman in the world to receive a PhD in meteorology and formerly of NASA who has authored more than 190 studies and has been called “among the most preeminent scientists of the last 100 years.”
Warming fears are the “worst scientific scandal in the history…When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists.” – UN IPCC Japanese Scientist Dr. Kiminori Itoh, an award-winning PhD environmental physical chemist.
“The IPCC has actually become a closed circuit; it doesn’t listen to others. It doesn’t have open minds… I am really amazed that the Nobel Peace Prize has been given on scientifically incorrect conclusions by people who are not geologists,” – Indian geologist Dr. Arun D. Ahluwalia at Punjab University and a board member of the UN-supported International Year of the Planet.
“The models and forecasts of the UN IPCC “are incorrect because they only are based on mathematical models and presented results at scenarios that do not include, for example, solar activity.” – Victor Manuel Velasco Herrera, a researcher at the Institute of Geophysics of the National Autonomous University of Mexico
“It is a blatant lie put forth in the media that makes it seem there is only a fringe of scientists who don’t buy into anthropogenic global warming.” – U.S Government Atmospheric Scientist Stanley B. Goldenberg of the Hurricane Research Division of NOAA.
“Even doubling or tripling the amount of carbon dioxide will virtually have little impact, as water vapour and water condensed on particles as clouds dominate the worldwide scene and always will.” – . Geoffrey G. Duffy, a professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering of the University of Auckland, NZ.
“After reading [UN IPCC chairman] Pachauri’s asinine comment [comparing skeptics to] Flat Earthers, it’s hard to remain quiet.” - Climate statistician Dr. William M. Briggs, who specializes in the statistics of forecast evaluation, serves on the American Meteorological Society’s Probability and Statistics Committee and is an Associate Editor of Monthly Weather Review.
“For how many years must the planet cool before we begin to understand that the planet is not warming? For how many years must cooling go on?” - Geologist Dr. David Gee the chairman of the science committee of the 2008 International Geological Congress who has authored 130 plus peer reviewed papers, and is currently at Uppsala University in Sweden.
“Gore prompted me to start delving into the science again and I quickly found myself solidly in the skeptic camp…Climate models can at best be useful for explaining climate changes after the fact.” – Meteorologist Hajo Smit of Holland, who reversed his belief in man-made warming to become a skeptic, is a former member of the Dutch UN IPCC committee.
“Many [scientists] are now searching for a way to back out quietly (from promoting warming fears), without having their professional careers ruined.” – Atmospheric physicist James A. Peden, formerly of the Space Research and Coordination Center in Pittsburgh.
“Creating an ideology pegged to carbon dioxide is a dangerous nonsense…The present alarm on climate change is an instrument of social control, a pretext for major businesses and political battle. It became an ideology, which is concerning.” - Environmental Scientist Professor Delgado Domingos of Portugal, the founder of the Numerical Weather Forecast group, has more than 150 published articles.
“CO2 emissions make absolutely no difference one way or another….Every scientist knows this, but it doesn’t pay to say so…Global warming, as a political vehicle, keeps Europeans in the driver’s seat and developing nations walking barefoot.” - Dr. Takeda Kunihiko, vice-chancellor of the Institute of Science and Technology Research at Chubu University in Japan.
“The [global warming] scaremongering has its justification in the fact that it is something that generates funds.” - Award-winning Paleontologist Dr. Eduardo Tonni, of the Committee for Scientific Research in Buenos Aires and head of the Paleontology Department at the University of La Plata. # #

Severe weather killed 32 citizens.
While 97% of scientists agree on anthropogenic climate change, there is no concensus on the cause and effect relationships with regard to weather patterns.
I'm not talking about the ostriches who bury their heads in the sand rather than face the real consequences of their climate change denial. Thoughtful, educated and informed climatologists are debating and will continue to debate the relationship between climate change and severe weather. I have read elegant studies which conclude a mitigating effect of global warming on the el nino and el nina weather controllers. I have also read studies concluding the probable catastrophic effect on water levels due to melting sea ice. There will be extraordinary weather changes, but no responsible climatologist has yet to aver a direct correlation between an increase in tornado activity and climate change. The fact is the tornado database going back to 1950 doesn't show any noticeable increasing trend of strong tornadoes in recent decades.
The deniers are motivated by politics and economics rather than science. They take isolated weather events and falsely claim them as evidence against global warming. ("Record Snow in D.C.") We can not employ the same false logic if we want to convince them of their error.
our planet and weather's just going to get worse, there's nothing we can really do to "help"
pretty soon there'll be stars falling, massive earthquakes everywhere, oceans turned to blood, darkness covering the sun, and the moon will turn a ghastly blood red. we are a damned people.
but I don't worry about that stuff :) there is a Hope beyond what I can describe. He is just. and that is why this defiled universe must be dealt with in that way...

Simultaneous warming on Earth and Mars suggests that our planet's recent climate changes have a natural—and not a human-induced—cause, according to one scientist's theory.
Earth is currently experiencing rapid warming, which the vast majority of climate scientists says is due to humans pumping huge amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmospher.
Mars, too, appears to be enjoying more mild and balmy temperatures.
In 2005 data from NASA's Mars Global Surveyor and Odyssey missions revealed that the carbon dioxide "ice caps" near Mars's south pole had been diminishing for three summers in a row.
Habibullo Abdussamatov, head of space research at St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory in Russia, says the Mars data is evidence that the current global warming on Earth is being caused by changes in the sun.
"The long-term increase in solar irradiance is heating both Earth and Mars," he said
Abdussamatov believes that changes in the sun's heat output can account for almost all the climate changes we see on both planets.

Mars and Earth, for instance, have experienced periodic ice ages throughout their histories.
"Man-made greenhouse warming has made a very small contribution to the warming seen on Earth in recent years, but it cannot compete with the increase in solar irradiance," Abdussamatov said.
By studying fluctuations in the warmth of the sun, Abdussamatov believes he can see a pattern that fits with the ups and downs in climate we see on Earth and Mars
The consensus of the scientific community is "There is new and stronger evidence that most of the warming observed over the last 50 years is attributable to human activities. . . . the Fourth Assessment Report finds that human actions are "very likely" the cause of global warming, meaning a 90% or greater probability."
1. As a matter of FACT, "consensus" IS used regarding scientific judgment:
[QUOTE]
Scientific consensus is the collective judgment, position, and opinion of the community of scientists in a particular field of study. Consensus implies general agreement, though not necessarily unanimity. Scientific consensus is not by itself a scientific argument, and it is not part of the scientific method. Nevertheless, consensus may be based on both scientific arguments and the scientific method.[1]
Consensus is normally achieved through communication at conferences, the publication process, replication (reproducible results by others) and peer review. These lead to a situation in which those within the discipline can often recognize such a consensus where it exists, but communicating to outsiders that consensus has been reached can be difficult, because the 'normal' debates through which science progresses may seem to out...

Scientific consensus may be invoked in popular or political debate on subjects that are controversial within the public sphere but which may not be controversial within the scientific community, such as evolution[3][4] or the claimed linkage of MMR vaccinations and autism.[2]

2. Further, as a matter of fact, SCIENTISTS use the term "consensus" regarding climate change:
[QUOTE]
Scientific consensus on Climate Change
A question that frequently arises in popular discussion of climate change is whether there is a scientific consensus on climate change.[125] Several scientific organizations have explicitly used the term "consensus" in their statements:
American Association for the Advancement of Science, 2006: "The conclusions in this statement reflect the scientific consensus represented by, for example, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and the Joint National Academies' statement."[32]
US National Academy of Sciences: "In the judgment of most climate scientists, Earth’s warming in recent decades has been caused primarily by human activities that have increased the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. ... On climate change, [the National Academies’ reports] have assessed consensus findings on the science..."[126]
Joint Science Academies' statement, 2005: "We recognise the international scientific consensus of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)."[127]
Joint Science Academies' statement, 2001: "The work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) represents the consensus of the international scientific community on climate change science. We recognise IPCC as the world’s most reliable source of information on climate change and its causes, and we endorse its method of achieving this consensus."[13]
American Meteorological Society, 2003: "The nature of science is such that there is rarely total agreement among scientists. Individual scientific statements and papers—the validity of some of which has yet to be assessed adequately—can be exploited in the policy debate and can leave the impression that the scientific community is sharply divided on issues where there is, in reality, a strong scientific consensus.... IPCC assessment reports are prepared at approximately five-year intervals by a large international group of experts who represent the broad range of expertise and perspectives relevant to the issues. The reports strive to reflect a consensus evaluation of the results of the full body of peer-reviewed research.... They provide an analysis of what is known and not known, the degree of consensus, and some indication of the degree of confidence that can be placed on the various statements and conclusions."[128] -
[END QUOTE http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
3. As a matter of FACT, scientific consensus is irrefutable. The list of concurring scientific organizations includes:

[QUOTE]
No scientific body of national or international standing has maintained a dissenting opinion; the last was the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, which in 2007 updated its 1999 statement rejecting the likelihood of human influence on recent climate with its current non-committal position.[2][3] Some other organizations, primarily those focusing on geology, also hold non-committal positions.

However, President-elect Barack Obama yesterday vowed to end global warming “denial”.

"There is nothing new under the sun..." Doomsday Christians have been at it forever, even though the Good Book says we can not know the hour, and the blame man for Earth's climate changes, well heck in the 1970s it was an ice age that was going to get us real soon, never mind that oil was suppose to have run out about ten years ago.
Get a grip people, read some history. The Earth warms, the Earth cools. The Sun has much more to do with climate changes than what man is, or is not doing. And most of all, the people who study the Earth's climate are not all in agreement on "Man Made Climate Change". Best of all, look at all the scientists who have been caught "cooking the books" messing with data to make the stats support "Man Made Climate Change".
"Man Made Climate Change" is a religion, and not a science.
Solar activity has much more to do with climate change than most anything else, and that is a proven fact. The "Man Made Climate Change" is hardly proven science. Furthermore, there are so many political factions, and so much money tied to the studies that have been done that support "Man Made Climate Change" it is quite questionable. The fact that there have been so many incidents of scientists cooking the books to forward the "Man Made Climate Change" theory that it is a troubling theory to say the least. Why would anyone have to alter scientific data if it was so cut and dry? The answer is, they would not.
I am all for cleaner air, and cleaner water, but I am not for living like the Hobbits in the Lord of the Rings because of some socio-political push for the "environme...

I am all for cleaner air, and cleaner water, but I am not for living like the Hobbits in the Lord of the Rings because of some socio-political push for the "environment". It is very clear that environmentalism got highjacked and taken over by people who want overlord government control. One of the founders of Greenpeace wrote a book on it, as well as several other promenante people in real environmentalism that tell the tale.
Every dollar, every ounce of energy that is wasted on this case, are ones that are absent from good oversight to make sure our water and air is not unnecessary polluted by unscrupulous people who would dump drilling waste water into a stream, or burn toxic materials with out the proper controls.
The next time a cat 5 hurricane is coming, all of them(phony scientist and crazy libs) should get out in the middle of it and throw money at it,curse it,or use what ever methods they think works.
The taxpayers will supply orange vest for all of them and a few helmet cams.
It could be on tv for all to watch.
Now that's a global warming cause,i wouldn't mind donating to..

In the scientific field of climate studies – which is informed by many different disciplines – the consensus is demonstrated by the number of scientists who have stopped arguing about what is causing climate change – and that’s nearly all of them. A survey of all peer-reviewed abstracts on the subject 'global climate change' published between 1993 and 2003 shows that not a single paper rejected the consensus position that global warming is man caused. 75% of the papers agreed with the consensus position while 25% made no comment either way, focusing on methods or paleoclimate analysis (Oreskes 2004).
Start planning/ cutting emissions now, better now then later, otherwise by the time the naysayers agree it'll be to late... No amount of preparedness will save your ass then....

Top Physics Professor Resigns From Post, Denouncing Global Warming "Fraud"
http://www.dailytech.com/Top+...
Callan strongly denies that charge. "Do any members of the Princeton physics department perform research on subjects even remotely related to climate science? No,” Callen told physicsworld.com. “Would a hypothetical physicist engaged in such work be likely to shade the results of his or her work to hew to some "party line" demanded by a funding agency? That would be contrary to the ethical code subscribed to by all scientists I know."
Lewis is also one of the 160 physicists who last year failed to persuade the society to modify its "appallingly tendentious" formal statement on climate change, which it had released in November 2007..
APS has 14 divisions and 11 topical groups covering all areas of physics research. There are 6 forums that reflect the interest of its 50,000 members..
Gavin Schmidt, a climate physicist at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, denies Lewis's claim that research in climate change is congruent with financial gain. "People don't get paid to get results," he says. "Funding pays for postdocs, graduate students and equipment." Schmidt adds the issue raised by Lewis is "a manufactured story" to make people believe there is some discontent in the profession.
It doesn't amount to much compared to the number that agree..

INTRODUCTION:
Over 700 dissenting scientists (updates previous 650 report) from around the globe challenged man-made global warming claims made by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and former Vice President Al Gore.This new 2009 255-page U.S. Senate Minority Report -- updated from 2007’s ground breaking report of over 400 scientists who voiced skepticism about the so-called global warming “consensus”-- features the skeptical voices of over 700 prominent international scientists, including many current and former UN IPCC scientists, who have now turned against the UN IPCC. This updated report includes an additional 300 (and growing) scientists and climate researchers since the initial release in December 2007.The over 700 dissenting scientists are more than13 times the number of UN scientists(52)who authored the media-hyped IPCC 2007Summary for Policymakers.The chorus of skeptical scientific voices grow louder in 2008 and 2009 as a steady stream of peer-reviewed studies,analyses,real world data and inconvenient developments challenged the UN’s and former Vice President Al Gore's claims that the "science issettled" and there is a "consensus." On a range of issues, 2008 and 2009 proved to be challenging for the promoters of man-made climate fears. Promoters of anthropogenic warming fears endured the following:Global temperatures failing to warm;Peer-reviewed studies predicting a continued lack of warming;a failed attempt to revive the discredited “Hockey Stick ”;inconvenient developments and studies regarding rising CO2;the Sun; Clouds;Antarctica;the Arctic;Greenland’s ice;Mount Kilimanjaro;Causes of Hurricanes; Extreme Storms;Extinctions;Floods;Dro... Acidification;
Polar Bears;Extreme weather deaths;Frogs;lack of atmospheric dust;Malaria;the failure of oceans to warm and rise as predicted. In addition, the following developments further secured 2008 and 2009 as the year the“consensus” collapsed.Russian scientists “rejected the very idea that carbon dioxide may be responsible for global warming”.An American Physical Society editor conceded thata“considerable presence” of scientific skeptics exists. An International team of scientistscountered the UN IPCC, declaring: “Nature, Not Human Activity, Rules the Climate”.India Issued a report challenging global warming fears. International Scientists demanded the UN IPCC “be called to account and cease its deceptive practices,”anda canvass of more than 51,000 Canadian scientists revealed 68% disagree that global warming science is“settled.” A Japan Geoscience Union symposium survey in 2008“showed 90 per cent of the participants do not believe the IPCC report.”
3 This new report issued by the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee's office of the GOP Ranking Member is the latest evidence of the growing grounds well of scientific opposition challenging significant aspects of the claims of the UN IPCC and Al Gore.Scientific meetings are now being dominated by a growing number of skeptical scientists. The prestigious International Geological Congress, dubbed the geologists' equivalent of the Olympic Games, was held in Norway in August 2008 and prominently featured the voices of scientists skeptical of man-made global warming fears.

Even the mainstream media has begun to take notice of the expanding number of scientistsserving as “consensus busters.” A November 25, 2008,article in Politico
noted that a“growing accumulation” of science is challenging warming fears, and added that the“science behind global warming may still be too shaky to warrant cap-and-trade legislation.” Canada’sNational Post noted on October 20, 2008, that “the number of climate change skeptics is growing rapidly.”
New York Times environmental reporter Andrew Revkin noted on March 6, 2008, "As we all know, climate science is not anumbers game (there are heaps of signed statements by folks with advanced degrees on all sides of this issue)," Revkin wrote.
Washington Post Staff Writer Juliet Eilperin conceded the obvious, writing that climate skeptics "appear to be expanding rather than shrinking."Skeptical scientists are gaining recognition despite what many say is a bias against them in parts of the scientific community and are facing significant funding disadvantages. Dr.William M. Briggs, a climate statistician who serves on the American Meteorological Society's Probability and Statistics Committee, explained that his colleagues described“absolute horror stories of what happened to them when they tried getting papers publishedthat explored non-‘consensus’ views.” In a March 4, 2008, report Briggs described the behavior as “really outrageous and unethical … on the parts of some editors. I wasshocked.”

Highlights of the Updated 2009 Senate Minority Report featuring over 700 international scientists dissenting from man-made climate fears:
“I am a skeptic…Global warming has become a new religion.”
- Nobel Prize Winner for Physics, Ivar Giaever.
“Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization nor receiving any funding, I can speak quite frankly….As a scientist I remain skeptical...The main basis of the claim that man’s release of greenhouse gases is the cause of the warming is based almost entirelyupon climate models. We all know the frailty of models concerning the air-surface system.”
"libtards" into thinking there is such a thing as global weather changes caused by greenhouse gases. Don't believe it. And, don't believe there ever were two wars without end either, they never happened.
January was the fourth warmest since they've recorded such things.
Last year:
http://abcnews.go.com/US/cold...
And we've had mild or harsh winters, record-hot or record-mild summers, rain-drenched or rare-dry springs and falls. Every year is a different story. It's always been that way:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
Weather is unpredictable. It doesn't have to be "Global Warming"
I'm all for cleaner air and better energy sources, but let's be realistic. By the time the world ends, we'll be long gone already, and so will several dozens of generations. Next thing you know you'll be saying that 2012 really is the year the world will end!
"I find the Doomsday picture Al Gore is painting — a six-meter sea level rise, 15 times the [U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change] number — entirely without merit. .
Atmospheric scientist Hendrik Tennekes, former research director at the Netherlands' Royal National Meteorological Institute
•"The hypothesis that solar variability and not human activity is warming the oceans goes a long way to explain the puzzling idea that the Earth's surface may be warming while the atmosphere is not. The [greenhouse-gas] hypothesis does not do this. ... The public is not well served by this constant drumbeat of false alarms fed by computer models manipulated by advocates."
David Wojick, expert reviewer for U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
•"The media is promoting an unprecedented hyping related to global warming. The media and many scientists are ignoring very important facts that point to a natural variation in the climate system as the cause of the recent global warming."
