Yale Professor's Surprising Discovery: Tea Party Supporters More Scientifically Literate

| On 16, Oct 2013

Yale Law professor Dan M. Kahan was conducting an analysis of the scientific comprehension of various political groups when he ran into a shocking discovery: tea party supporters are slightly more scientifically literate than the non-tea party population.

When composing histograms of the scientific inference abilities of liberals and conservatives, he discovered that those who described themselves as tea party supporters came out pretty well, based on National Science Foundation standards of evaluation.

Not in the least. Liberals especially those who've never ventured outside the cushy womb of academia are often astounded by reality.

No, since I consider myself in the Tea Party Category of observing the total decay of American Civilization, i.e. 50% welfare, 50% illiteracy, 50% truancy daily in American schools, 50% of babies born today in U.S. spawned by unmarried, mostly teens, a wandering sperm dropping illiterate father who appears frequently on the news bragging about the number of women he has impregnated and his absolute lack of responsibility in helping support his children indicates, America is out of control and this may be the time if females have more than two babies, unmarried, no dad, no money or education, a tubal ligation should be initiated. When she is married, educated and married, come back and ligation can be reversed and have as many babies as she wants but not at the expense of the American Taxpayers! Same for the sperm depositing illiterates like the football player making 57 million dollars a year and one of his babies murdered. He has around 7 babies out there and could afford the best for the babies but again a sperm depositor with no sense of obligation, and welfare footed by taxpayers, something dreadfully wrong. Give these jerks a vasectomy until they are literate and marrying the mothers or committed to support all those babies so American Taxpayers can be done with the c...

Not to mention the 20 million or more illegals flooding over southern borders popping out babies for taxpayers to take care of. American taxpayers have had it with irresponsible people but most of all totally self serving irresponsible Congress!

Not at all - It is unfortunate that the democrat propaganda machine gets the press that it does, but it does and the uninformed base of that party believes it.

I expect the Yale group was quite surprised.

I have a Christian friend who actually is one of those listed as having worked on the Higg's Boson. The discovery of Hubble concerning the "expanding universe" point to a beginning. If there is a beginning, there is also a BEGINNER, a DESIGNER, a CREATOR. I have a feeling that you don't know as much as you think you do. You have second hand opinions. Use the brain that God gave you.

I'm not surprised nor am I surprised that this liberal teacher had such prejudices against a sector of the population that he really knew so little about and up until now had no desire to discover the truth. These are the people that are teaching and influencing our children.

I fear the teaching profession has been taken over by socialist/Marxist teachers and these dangerous freaks, like the President present a clear and present danger for freedom and brain washing of our children..check out your kids school text books...See what is being taught in history and social studies...heard that inner city schools text book have pushed Christanity to a few back pages and all the laurels and teaching the muslim way!!! Not good if true! Teacher's unions need to go as many of them are socialist/marixists union brain washed folks...look at our public schools since unions took over almost 50 years ago....down, down, down, went the quality of education...also, run for a position on local school board...

Liberals repeat whatever they are told to think. No need for any kind of literacy to do that.

Tea Partiers question almost everything and that requires knowledge and thought.

I never thought that the Tea Party was scientifically illiterate.

However, your question is inaccurate. I am aware that you don't care. So it's fine.

However the study didn't compare them to liberals but non tea party members as a whole. So Tea Party members are more scientifically knowledgeable than non tea party members.

From your link: In other words, tea party members appear to be slightly, but solidly more scientifically literate than non-tea party members.

In fact, tea party members tend to be more scientifically literate than other self-described conservatives, who have slightly negative scores, overall.

    I accept that.

A classmate described by comparison to a certain prof we didn't like, "she really can't teach but she does know her stuff; it's still better than a slick b*****d who knows diddly".

Liberals are 99.99% like the second case he described, the slicker who knows diddly.

In my experience debating with Liberals they seem to base every single one of their arguments on their emotions and some stupid poll that was highly probable of being tampered with to generate the desired results. It doesn't surprise me that these self anointed intellectuals are actually far less intelligent than they think. What does surprise me is that the left wing researcher who brought this to the public's attention even did so.

Yo! I moved to Indiana years ago from Illinois when Palin and McCain were running! Had a McCain Palin sign that was quickly torn up! My short street is filled with professors from a local extreme liberal university! Two of my younger sons possessed by liberalism! None well read or historically literate but word of mouth psycho babble. Remember being with my older son and a business acquaintance and she scowling and angry wanted to know what I thought of Sarah Palin. I looked at her and said that I liked her that I had researched her thoroughly and liked her Christian upbringing, athletic ability, and college graduate, a Mayor, a Governor and mother of 5, not to forget, a quiet giant of a man, her husband who has won the Iderad Dog Sled Race in Alaska of 1200 miles across frozen terrain alone..Compared to Obama, the wealthy spoiled brat, groomed in Muslim Indonesia upbringing, wealthy banker grandparents assumed care when Obama's mother died.. Columbia college where his presence was never notice...he was mentored in the states by the Bonnie and Clyde bomber terrorists, killer couple, Bill Ayers and wife Bernadine Dohrn..Like Obama, these two creeps came from extreme wealth and love all the perks of being wealthy and using the Capitalistic System all their self serving stilted lives but at the same time have sworn to destroy the system that they love so much. This is our President running and taking down America...

Becuase us uneducated, racists tea partiers need to be keep in our place, after all who do we think are wanting our constitution to be to be the law of the land? We must think we'er free or live in a republic, not a democracy! We should be lead not leader's right? This isnt news, we don't need to be told who we are! Its this liberal leftist, socialist Obamanation that needs to be educated!
