Would You Vote for Bill Clinton Over Barack Obama?

Chris D 2012/09/06 19:00:00
You!
Add Photos & Videos
Former president Bill Clinton stole the show Wednesday night at the Democratic National Convention, which is exactly why President Obama was hesitant to include him in the program. Clinton was also very critical of Obama in 2008 when he was in the run-off with Hillary, so there was some bad blood being put to bed last night. Americans seem to still be enamored with Bill Clinton. He is a very eloquent speaker, and has the ability to get people focused on the big picture items. If you had to vote for either Bill Clinton or Barack Obama for president, who would you pick?

Bill Clinton got us in the best financial condition in many years. Obama got us in more debt, so yeah.

And that's sad because they're both bad. If they were all that was available.

I know it's offensive, it could be worse.
My daughter did a 4th grade assignment about Bill and the whole ugly story (court testimony) is right there on the Library of Congress website. I had no idea it was not a child friendly in some areas.
She wanted to know what he did with the cigar?

Clinton was one of the worst presidents the US ever had. Oh well though, at least I got a free sex ed lesson growing up under him!

I don't care that he had affairs i was making a joke. I'm not a partisan Republican either, actually I am a very pissed off ex-Democrat turned Independent. You want reasons? I hate him because of policies like intervening in wars that were none of America's business, NAFTA, amnesty for illegal immigrants and because he did basically everything the banking and telecom industries and other special interests wanted. Even Clinton said he should have "regulated derivatives better," which really means "maybe i shouldn't have just let people create debt pyramid schemes and destroy the global economy with them like Goldman-Sachs said I should." Also as far as the budget surplus goes the only reason that happened was because Congress borrowed more money from Social Security. That's why there were "projected surpluses" yet the national debt still went up. Very typical of the US government especially when Republicans are in charge (which they basically were). The Bush years were obviously worse but that doesn't make Clinton good.

    GREAT comments!
I agree, NAFTA and CAFTA killed more jobs and led to less tax revenue and more borrowing.
Rwanda was genocide and we watched it on tv, wth?
I tutored a Bosnian war refugee, a 7 yr old boy former soldier, his 11 year old sister was a prisoner and his Mother was working on getting here safely to America for 4 years.
Now, we just let people walk across our borders.

...not Bosnians or anyone else from Europe. Just Mexicans & other South Americans.

Ron Paul is still the man... but in lieu of him, Gary Johnson is the best choice.

How do we know who comes across the border, really? We don't.

Ron Paul is not in the running, but I did vote for him (my concience) in the primary.

    Just FYI.

Gary Johnson is not Ron Paul :( and no I'm not writing in Ron Paul.
Do you really think that Dr Paul will get more write in's than actual votes in the primaries?
This election is just too important, as a former Hillary campaign staff member and a former employee of the DNC, I have seen too much to allow my vote to be used for Obama's gain.
After the 2012 DNC convention votes were overturned and since 600,000+ Hillary votes were given to Obama at the 2008 DNC, I know this is not going to be a fair election whatsoever.

Of course not. Romney's already been shown to be dishonest. Many votes for Dr. Paul were not counted in the primaries. It was only news for about a month & now I notice it's buried... can't even find anything online about it anymore.

Thing is, I do not see Romney as a better alternative. I think that, though there are some [minor] differences, they are equally detrimental to our nation's future.

Johnson is about as close (ideologically) to Paul as is possible. His record as governor is outstanding (as a true Conservative, not a Neoconservative).
Has there been a fair election since the '96 election (if that was even fair)?

but you see.. that is one of the things very wrong in our country.. giving up moral values.. that is why our country is in the mess it is.. and you just excused immoral behavior (and esp. behavior not befitting a president).. as tho it was not important at all.. shame on you

Clinton is just a man like any other.
There is no perfect man or woman. Forgiving normal human failings is one thing, but forgiving corruption, stealing, putting our men/women in harms way for profit & personal gain, allowing one's self (soul) to be bought & paid for by big business, encouraging & participating in the removal of The People's liberties... these are things I cannot support.
A man's personal, private relationships (sex) are his business to be dealt with at home. What he does as an elected official that affects his constituency is my business.

Shame on you for supporting any candidate who wants to drop bombs on any nation & kill others. It's one thing if we HAVE to & have no choice in order to defend ourselves. It's another thing to drool over the idea & actually WANT to... especially when there is nothing whatsoever to gain but personal power or further the power of those who are already far too powerful for anyone's good.
Some things are unconscionable. I do not support them. You seem to be more than happy to. Shame on you.

not sure what you are talking about.. seems to me it was obama that ordered the drones into Libya to drop bombs .. and added more bombing to the Afghan areas where they are fighting the Taliban..including drones..
Is that who you are talking about?? I don't support obama ..and I am an Independent now since I left the Democratic party in 08.

    Yup. Obama drops bombs.
Romney vows to start war with Iran... who, by the way has done bumpkiss to us.

Ron Paul wants to bring the troops home & protect our borders while making business contracts & alliances with the foreign nations previous presidents have done their best to make as enemies.
Hrmmmm... who the hell sounds like the better, more rational choice?
