Every President of the United States of America has fallen under some denomination of Christianity. Do you think it matters and would you vote for a candidate who was openly without a religious philosophy and did not believe in the existence of god?

    A person without preconceived notions would be much better to lead a nation and do it from the middle of the road instead of the ditches on the right and left. It would also cut down on these endless wars.

    A small number of them were deists at best. The point is none of them were on record saying "I don't believe in god".

    I believe we've had Atheist Presidents. They were just 'in the closet.' Given the current bigotry in America, I doubt if an openly Atheist candidate could get elected to Presidential office.

    It is all nonesense, hardly anything that is really news, let alone reported fairly and when Paris Hilton or Tom Cruise can make the show, at the top or even in entertainment, later in the hour, you ain't really watching a news. lol

    Oh my gosh. I saw just a few minutes of ABC news just the other day to see what news was now compared to when I quit watching. What little I saw was just fluff meant to lull the idiots back to sleep.

    The day I stopped watching the news, was the 2nd day after Ford's death (they kept calling him the hero that got us through "watergate," Arhg!) and It was the 2nd day it was the headline, putting the previous 5 day's top story, Tom Cruise and his wife- how will she give birth (underwater, no drugs, whatever his religion required, or if she would do something else)- to the second top story...I mean...!
    I will give you Ford, one day, but he was a hero and how tom cruise's baby means anything...lol I can't believe he cares. lol

    {;>) Ford couldn't walk down a flight of stairs and couldn't keep the liquor cabinet locked from his wife.

    He may have saved the country from having to drag the situation down a dusty road. What Nixon did was IMO trying to help those that did not deserve help. It could be he remembered the days when he was left out to dry by Eisenhower before the famous Checkers speech. It sure looked bad for the presidential candidate to not give any support to his running mate at that time.

    Ford was selected/used to create the Post Watergate situation, I cannot think of how he saved us from anything. I can't even say, thank goodness he was not Agnew. lol
