And you thought the “Rent Is Too Damn High” guy was bizarre? Meet Mr. Pro-Life.
According to The Daily Beast, the independent Idaho gubernatorial candidate, born Marvin Richardson, officially changed his name when he first ran for office, billing himself as “Pro-Life (a person formerly known as Marvin Richardson)", then shortening it to clear up any confusion.
The father of 15 and organic strawberry farmer is described as an “unfailing advocate for the defenseless, a moral vegetarian who shuns all killing” who was toeing the Tea Party line before that party even existed.
At a debate last month he once again called for the shuttering of the U.S. Department of Education, calling public education a “Communist doctrine,” a statement similar to ones he’s made in previous bids for governor (2006) and Senate (2008).
And while Pro-Life has little chance of pulling out a victory in Idaho, the Beast asked what might happen if someone else with Pro-Life’s same take on the Dept. of Education, such as Nevada’s Sharron Angle or Alaska’s Joe Miller, does pull out a victory?
Idaho parents don’t have to worry just yet, since the state’s constitution specifically calls for a thorough system of public schools, but Mr. Pro-Life thinks the federal constitution trumps the state’s mandate, a typical Tea Party take on things.
But wait, can we get back to the fact that there is a guy running for the state’s highest office who has changed his name to Mr. Pro-Life? He has said he will keep running “in every election until I die” in order to save the unborn.

To be against the death penalty, and war,and oppression of humans, like the zoo,and and against nudity laws, and humans hating humans is a good thing.
You betcha!
a) He changed his name to "Pro-Life" HIS NAME. That's on passports, licenses, etc.
b) He was 15 children. No one in their right mind has 15 children in this day and age.
c) He's against education. Only an idiot is against education.
I try to shy away from the extreme's no matter which side they're on and this man seems a tad bit extreme...so no I wouldn't vote for him.
Just the Facts About Sexual Orientation & Youth
A Primer for Principals, Educators & School Personnel
This factsheet has been developed by a group of education, health, mental health, and religious organizations that all share a concern for the health and education of all students in schools, including lesbian, gay, and bisexual students .
We hope that you and others who care about and work with youth will review the factual and scientific information provided herein and weigh it carefully in considering how to respond appropriately to controversies about homosexuality when they arise in your school.
Also, a guidance counselor in a public school context may not attempt to persuade a gay, lesbian or bisexual student of the religious belief of some that homosexuality is a sin, or otherwise seek to impose a negative religious view of being gay, lesbian or bisexual on the student .
As clearly illustrated by the foregoing discussion of concerns and policies of health and mental health professionals, school officials should be deeply concerned about the validity and bias of materials or presentations that promote a change to a person's sexual orientation as a “cur...

As clearly illustrated by the foregoing discussion of concerns and policies of health and mental health professionals, school officials should be deeply concerned about the validity and bias of materials or presentations that promote a change to a person's sexual orientation as a “cure” or suggest that being gay, lesbian, or bisexual is unhealthy. School officials routinely make such judgments in determining which educational and instructional materials to use in their schools.

Once a school begins to deteriorate, it takes more and more money to operate meaning our children get less and less of an education and eventually, even the facilities begin falling apart around them so that the entire school needs rebuilt from the ground up just like the educational process itself.
Meanwhile, our private and religious schools remain some of the best in the world because most are controlled by Conservatives who preserved what worked from when we had the worlds best schools revealing the stark contrast between Conservative and Progressive values as if it ain't broke... don't fix it and yet Progressives, by their very nature, feel they must change everything even when you have the best education money can buy until you have the worst education you can waste your money on.
I brought this up on another issue where someone decided it was funny to attack me with a Japanese video where they were making fun of Koreans. Of course, they didn't understand I wasn't a Conservative and as a Centrist, I was pointing out the glaring failures of Progressives... and of course, this person was a Progressive. Comparing our public educational system to Communism or Socialism is actually a true assessment because once the teachers unions and Progressives took over, we went from the best public school system in the world to one of the worst.
And what's worse about this is that the left pays a heavier price for this because an Atheist isn't going to enroll a child in a religious school and Atheist or not, most leftwingers who believe in separation of church and state won't do it either. That leaves private education which also contradicts their ideological beliefs where all children should be enrolled in school and have the same opportunity for advancement... well, they do in our public schools if advancement is defined by having a first grade level education in the seventh grade.
The promise of public education was to give our children every opportunity to excel and I am extremely grateful for the Liberals who came to power in the 1960's who forced our children into school taking them out of the fields and grinding poverty like my mother endured working in the fields alongside her 14 other siblings... that's right, my grandmother had 15 kids and would have been Pro Life in her views at that time because at a nickle a day living in poverty, the kids actually earned more than what it cost to feed them and it allowed them to buy 40 acres of land and a house they built with their own hands because the kids paid for the food and my grandfathers income was free to at least make them well to do dirt farmers. But because of the Liberals, 10 of these kids were put back in school and the grinding poverty, which rightwing Democrats caused through programs like segregation which helped only about a third of whites while hurting the rest like it did blacks, came to an end.
But between the 60's and the 80's, the Liberals became changed from within by Progressives and Socialists. Our public educational system deteriorated and was clearly no longer providing a top education as the costs of putting so many children in school wasn't fully being provided for. Children were reading from third grade English books in the eighth grade in some schools because there was nothing else to teach from. The teachers did very little to encourage the students spending three minutes to give the days lesson and then retiring behind their desk for the rest of the class doing crossword puzzles and personal finances... and it's even worse today with computers as some classes it's as if the teacher is nothing but a hall monitor telling the students what subject to pull up and then simply watching from their desk to make sure there's no tomfoolery going on but having kept their lazy asses sitting behind the desk the entire class period.
Literally put, kids in third world nations with chalk slates being taught in a grass hut are getting a better education than our children in public education with the best computers and software available costing us thousands of dollars when a school textbook would cost far less by comparison... even worse, some schools mandate what computers and software you must buy and it's often the most expensive there is when there are lower cost alternatives they won't let your children have if they're to attend classes.
No, I don't agree with Mr Pro Life and I think the mans a lunatic.
I do think our public schools need an overhaul from top to bottom, Progressives need tarred and feathered for what they did to the system and run out of town on a rail... and we need to focus on education with some common sense regulations where every schools budget must be proven, investigations mandated should any public school be found suspicious or wasteful and that teachers unions only deal with issues like salaries with no authority over how teachers are required to do their jobs which is why so many are among the laziest employed Americans in the country.
Teachers forget that while they think they can trick parents by making deals with students and so forth when parents are coming by for a visit that those parents were once students as well... they know the teachers games and that's why very few parents of children enrolled in public education have any respect for teachers at all.
States like Arkansas have passed laws where if your child misses more than three days of school, you are penalized $250.00 a day. In Alabama, if your child is late too often for school, they can legally take your child away from you and put them in a reformatory during the simple making life that much more peachy for working parents who have to leave for work before their child leaves for school so that if the bus driver is to blame for not waiting, your child is legally removed from your care even if they pass their subjects and at school every day... just late. These whack jobs want to send your child before a court of law because they write on their desk or say something defamatory... that's what happens when you strip the school of every option they have to punish your child for disobedience because of your social views.
There are some who want to merge our public and private schools... that's not going to happen because it gives government a say in how these schools will be managed and things like separation of church and state mean most who have their children in private or religious schools aren't about to allow that to happen as the reason they pay so much to put them in private schools when many can barely afford it is because the public schools are such a mess... and they're not about to give the people who ruined public education any say over their childrens education.
To be brutally honest, public education is the greatest proof that Progressives and Socialists are destroying this country as Liberals themselves aren't really the ones at fault save for allowing the Progressives and Socialists to get away with calling themselves Liberals to the point Liberals don't know who they are anymore. The only true Liberals remaining today are Neocons who are essentially rightwing Liberals who split from leftwing Liberals during the Great Depression blaming Socialists and Progressives for the economic crisis. When Irving Kristol reinvented them, they at first called themselves Paleoliberals but the press coined the term Neoconservative about them preferring to keep calling what they had been calling themselves before Kristol as all Neoconservative means is New Conservatives. The name New Conservative comes from the fact that Conservatives originally began as Conservative Liberals before dropping the name Liberal as the Liberals shifted to the extreme left... thus, the rightwing Liberals were following in the Conservatives footsteps. They shifted parties and became Republicans in the late 60's after having helped JFK become President giving him their support but opposing LBJ who became a supporter of the political left. Most in Kristols day fully understood that the Neocons were Liberals and they were defined as Liberals who had a sense of reality vs leftwing Liberals who were already revealing they had lost sense with reality becoming more Progressive than Liberal in their ideological beliefs.
Just like the left snowballed us into thinking that Martin Luther King jr was a lifelong Democrat so that even Black History Month taught that lie for decades, the public educational system dumbed us down about political ideologies even failing to educate us as to who the Neocons are... yet do any research on your own on the Neocons beliefs and their origins and you'll find it clearly stated they are Liberals also which may be the real reason the Republicans have been so successful over the past 40 years vs Democrats... because Republicans have all the true Liberals and Conservatives in their party and Conservative / Moderate Democrats are the only ones who know who they are in the Democratic Party.
Public education is important for our children and what once was the promise of helping every child get the best education possible has become a sad pathetic joke of lies and broken promises where they could do better if you put them in a library to educate themselves or have their parents do it which if they had more time and trust to educate their own children... even they could do better than public education as has been proven time and time again.
Maybe Mr Pro Life is a madman... but even he's right that if we can't do better than this that maybe public education should be abolished and every parent given a voucher to put their child in any private or religious school they want... or teach them at home which could help some poor families get ahead as long as their children pass required testing for academics to retain that voucher for home schooling.
Having 15 kids provides a good way to measure the changes in society and as for his name, he calls himself Mr Pro Life but at least he chose his own weird name instead of idiots like Michael Jackson who named his daughter Blanket so she'll grow up traumatized and maybe change it when she's old enough... strangely enough, many of the people here attacking him probably think Jackson had the right to name his daughter what he did.
