And you thought the “Rent Is Too Damn High” guy was bizarre? Meet Mr. Pro-Life.
According to The Daily Beast, the independent Idaho gubernatorial candidate, born Marvin Richardson, officially changed his name when he first ran for office, billing himself as “Pro-Life (a person formerly known as Marvin Richardson)", then shortening it to clear up any confusion.
The father of 15 and organic strawberry farmer is described as an “unfailing advocate for the defenseless, a moral vegetarian who shuns all killing” who was toeing the Tea Party line before that party even existed.
At a debate last month he once again called for the shuttering of the U.S. Department of Education, calling public education a “Communist doctrine,” a statement similar to ones he’s made in previous bids for governor (2006) and Senate (2008).
And while Pro-Life has little chance of pulling out a victory in Idaho, the Beast asked what might happen if someone else with Pro-Life’s same take on the Dept. of Education, such as Nevada’s Sharron Angle or Alaska’s Joe Miller, does pull out a victory?
Idaho parents don’t have to worry just yet, since the state’s constitution specifically calls for a thorough system of public schools, but Mr. Pro-Life thinks the federal constitution trumps the state’s mandate, a typical Tea Party take on things.
But wait, can we get back to the fact that there is a guy running for the state’s highest office who has changed his name to Mr. Pro-Life? He has said he will keep running “in every election until I die” in order to save the unborn.

The woman had the freedom to engage in behavior that leads to pregnancy . . . or not.
People like you irritate me because your OPIINIONS are not grounded in reality! And before you call me a liberal - I'm going to tell you that I'm a Libertarian who votes Republican that is sick of morons like you bringing the party down! Get a friggin' life and stop telling other people how to live theirs! YOUR religion belongs in church not out trying to make others conform to your archaic views!
Shuns all killing? Plants are living things, idiot vegans. You can not live without eating something that has already lived no matter if your diet is based on meat or plants you are still taking life in order to live.
carring the damn thing! They get all the pleasure and NONE of the pain!
My cat also doesn't have the potential to be a wife beating crackhead rapist serial killer, now does she? Your point is a logical fallacy.
PS: My cat is better than anyone's fetus, and I would choose her over your fetus :)
As a Jew, I believe life doesn't begin until we take our first breath from exiting the womb. So tell me, why would I care about a fetus if it's not even alive?
Is he a fiscal incompetent and simply plans to focus all of his energies on pro-life issues and nothing else? That's a disaster. I wouldn't vote for that.
I suppose if you believe each and every abortion is an actual murder - it would make sense that you would treat that as the most important issue in the world. Why wouldn't you? You'd be insane not to.
Hey - this just isn't my issue. That said, to mock or make fun of someone who believes they are preventing murder is more than just a little ignorant. You can debate 'em, you can disagree with 'em, but it only makes you look stupid to mock them.
"Ha ha, you care about human life! You loser!" Seriously?
