Would you be opposed to voting for a candidate just because they are gay?

I have seen all of these questions asking if we would vote for Athiests , Muslims , Mormons , even the deaf... and I got this idea!

So what do you think? I'd still vote for a gay guy, would you?

(No , I'm not talking about accusations of having done gay things even though being married to a woman. I'm talking literally , only , and openly gay)

My answer is the same for all of these questions: if I agreed with their policies. I would never make a decision for or against a candidate solely based on their religion, race, sexual orientation, etc. I'd probably be more likely to agree with the policies of a gay man than a Muslim, for example, but it wouldn't depend solely on those things.

Someday when this hateful generation is gone and in their rightful place in the afterlife, I am sure there will be a major gay or homosexual leader. There are already a lot of them in the Catholic church. Its just a matter of time until they work their way to the white house.

No I would not vote for a gay man

As long as there are gay agenda's and they insist on being treated as if they where born that way I would not vote for a gay man. I live in Oregon and our gay mayor in Portland dresses in drag. If I dressed funny people would laugh at me but all you libby's out there have bought into Hollywood's beliefs. Truth is I don't like it that someone gets special treatment just because of a sexual choice, regardless if they cant help it.

I don't care if someones gay. I would just worry that the same person would have another agenda other then helping America. I mean it would be almost as bad as voting Obama back in. We shouldn't push our private agenda's when in office. for the people.

I probably would. Being the first gay president would be a definite plus, but I'd also have to consider if he was likely to be a fair, just president; I wouldn't just base it on orientation alone.

I think somewhere down the line people realized their morals were actually immoral in the first place

Stoning people to death = Inhumane
Enslaving blacks = Inhumane & immoral
Denying females equal rights = Immoral

Its the same kind of thing , and equal rights for gays is technically just another one of those things on a long list of things

By the logic of things you said technically women shouldn't be allowed to run for president either because they too , like gay men are statistically emotionally unstable compared to the average straight man

By the same crazy logic maybe blacks shouldn't be allowed to run for office because statistically they make the majority of criminals in our country?

Do you see how this makes no sense?

You have to understand that that was wrong. Church's today would never do that but years before we would burn witches on the cross and stone people. Now we believe what Jesus did.. He said "he without sin throw the first stone". Seems the Muslim people are where we used to be hundreds of years ago and have a ways to go. I just worry about people that don't have strong beliefs about right and wrong. Many people believe if it doesn't hurt anyone its OK.. Is it, and how do we know. We really dont know much about the mind or sanity yet. people used to say that if you dont believe in something You’ll fall for anything.

I don't think like that...I don't judge a person based on their sexuality. It's not my business and neither is it yours. Why should it matter? I have many gay friends and I'm not religious so the moral issue isn't a factor. I'm open to anything. Why would I want to live a life of judging, assuming, and anti-Americanism. I love my country for it's diversity, I was born and raised in the gayest community in California. I love people and that's who I see, the "person" on the inside not their religion, sexuality, race or anything else, we are all here on this plant together, we need to all get along and have acceptance and tolerance in our heart.
