Would You Vote for a Candidate Because of Their Spouse?

Chris D 2012/09/04 17:45:24
You!

The first lady will be kicking off the Democratic National Convention hoping to shore up the female vote this evening. Ann Romney did the same thing at the RNC. It seems a bit ridiculous that women would vote for a candidate based on the likability of the wives, but it is a ridiculous world that we live in ... would you vote for Obama or Romney because of Michelle or Ann?

but their spouse is a big part in elections.,. sadly. people look at them like teams. not single politicians... if their spouse f**s it up in some personal way, completely unrelated to the campaign, they pay for it... sadly.

I answered with "maybe" because though my vote would mainly be based on the candidates goals, beliefs and record, a review of his wife might reflect or be telling of his character. In the Obamas' case, Michelle seems very forthright and sincere. She strives to help and improve our citizens.

Their spouse isn't the one running for office so why should I vote based on their morals, their ideas, and their incentives? They could be totally different from the actual candidates.

I vote for the candidate, although in Bill Clinton's case, if he'd been married to a Republican, his policies would have been substantially less liberal. :-D

I don't mean any harm, but that attitude says that must be young because no one except your doctor can tell you what to eat and others can only offer suggestions. An adult knows this. Obesity in this country is excessive and most of her campaigns address obesity and not just eating a snack every now and then. If you're not obese than she's not talking to you. Children in general don't rip and run like they did back in my day. Also, she obviously works out and her body looks like it and most nutritionists will tell you that there is nothing wrong with splurging every now and then as long as it's kept in moderation.

wrong on many counts ...Im not young ...its not my attitude..but rather her meddling in school lunch menus,,,,,and fast food menus ...telling us whats good to eat and whats not......when she has no position in government....and doesnt follow her own guidelines...

and she is a little chunky.............

By your remark it is plain to see you harbor anger/hate toward the first lady. What does it matter if she eats any junk food or not? Obviously she does not over-eat: Look at the tone and figure of her body - that says it all. And anyone whom works at keeping physically fit will tell you that it is okay to "treat yourself" on an indulgence once in awhile. If she where even 50 pounds overweight, I might have agreed with you but you are just spewing hate.
