Okay, I'm not sure that he should be deported, but he shouldn't use his position to treat people like he does. He exhibits no respect for anyone who thinks differently than himself. I have little respect for his thoughts now.

It won't get this tory returned to sender but it might get him fired which would be a good thing. We already had enough of British rule.

Deporting him for this would conflict with the first amendment. Some other pretext should be found. ;)

He is a British subject and not entitled to First Amendment (or Second as he makes so amply clear) . If he wants to express his opinion from his country of origin - fine! But as a guest in this country he should be able to mind his manners. This topic is a discussion for US citizens- the good, bad, and ugly, but not for non-citizen guests.

Just let him try that "free speech" stuff in his country of origin and see what happens to him.

I understand your feeling--like many Brits, he has mannerism without manners. However, within the borders of the United States, American law is the framework that applies. If he broke an American law while here, he'd face American music. So he's entitled the the protections of American law, too. Can't have it both ways.

Actually I know you are right. He is entitled to the protection of the 14th amendment just as the illegal aliens are. That said he is here as a legal guest (green card) and can be deported as an unwelcome guest. He cannot be deprived of his rights including his right to go back to where he came from and annoy those folks.

My real purpose is to get some motion going to address the issue with the advertisers who are foolish enough to lend financial support to someone who is opposed to the rights of the citizens of the USA.

Must admit that in spite of my philosophical and aesthetic distaste for selective enforcement, green-card status is not citizenship, and can be revoked. I'm not familiar with the legal landscape there.

I would like to believe that but the 14th Amendment does create a problem for disposing of Tories.

Despite the common-sense principle that American law applies to every person in America (because if it didn't, then what would?), some folks just can't resist wanting to apply law selectively for their own convenience.

Sadly, I've even chatted with lawyers who think this way. Must remember to cite that clause next time--seems to me like it settles the matter. :)

It really makes me angry when a non-citizen starts to criticize our country. I do not go to England and go on their television stations and tell them it is stupid to support a monarchy. It is non of his business what goes on here. Get the idiot out of America. What a jerk!

Free Speech extends to Resident Aliens AND Mr. Morgan has not attacked the 2nd amendment. He has suggested further limits on firearms. 2nd Amendment (nor any other part of the constitution) confers no absolute rights and limitations already exist on firearms. Like many Americans Morgan supports further limits. AND, were Mr. Morgan to suggest that any amendment be completely reversed, that too is free speech. For instance you are suggesting that the 1st amendment be scrapped and that a person be deported for expressing a belief. None the less you don't need to be deported.

I concur with your basic approach to the first amendment, however the second plainly states that, "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Thus, many limitations are, in fact, not constitutional.

'many' SO making a 50MM machine gun is and full automated is but automatic and 30 round clips isn't? Actually the assault weapons ban was upheld BUT the question (an we probably disagree on this) is, would an assault weapons ban help? My guess is 'some' help but 1) we're not going to be picking up what's already out there 2) last time it was riddled with exceptions anyway and 3) not without other changes in the loopholes, ammo, and other issues. Bottom line for Americans is that we have ONE key difference from England, Australia and Canada (and other countries) with respect to gun violence. It's not video games, or movies and definitely we're not less religious (to the contrary much more!). Our difference is the freely available arms. You CAN get guns in these other countries - they're just careful about WHO can get them.

I dont think he realizes that deporting him does not infringe on any rights. All deporting him does is remove a criminal complicit in enabling other criminals in murder. Its a good thing to deport a man who is disarming the public so that more mass murderers have more helpless victims that have to wait minutes (sometimes 20-30 or more) for police that are not legally obligated to protect you when seconds matter.

Its not like Pier's Morgan is an American citizen anyway. The privileged to not be deported is reserved for American citizens only.

It is true that France is a Democracy as you say. Thankfully, the USA is not a Democracy. Perhaps in a Democracy you would not want to get rid of an unwelcome and crass guest who has become an undesirable - maybe you should consider the benefits of not being a Democracy.

We don't want him back here. His opinion regarding American legislation is of no importance, and i doubt if the American people will take much notice anyway. The American Constitution is a design for life and therefore best left as it is.
