Would you rather have a POTUS with Christian values or one with "I fully support homosexuality" values?

You!

Romney, although not perfect as none of us are, seems to have a core value of decency. While Obama does not seem to have any core values, only values that try and win him votes.

Romney thinks homosexuality is wrong (as does God), Obama thinks it is fine (as does satan). Romney has a track record of attending a Christian-oriented church. Obama attended "reverend" Wright's racist church of hate for 20-years.

Choose this day, whom you support.

If you ask me, they're one and the same thing. A "good" Christian would be accepting of others and hate the sin not the sinner. They would also be completely forgiving.

I have no problem with a president who DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE against homosexuals (and what the hell, by the way, are "homosexual values"?), but I would not support a president with Christian values: to do so would be to endorse so many immoral ideas that the bible teaches that I would fear for the USA's standing in the world.

It be a nicer world if "Christianists" in America actually embraced Christian values, instead of using the Bible to justify their hatred, selfishness & intolerance.

Any true Christian would avoid American politics altogether. A true Christian would have better & more important things to do.

You have never see a truly Christian President & you never will. Politics and religion should never mix.

Leviticus speaks against homosexuality and eating shellfish. So, if you're going to protest gay military, you might as well protest Red Lobster or Long John Silver's. Eat a shrimp basket - burn in Hell.

I suggest that those who want a theocracy should move to Iran, where theocracy exists. What they do over there to homosexuals will make you proud.

Yeshua was a man of color, who would easily be classified as a Liberal, a Progressive and a borderline Socialist who never spoke a word against homosexuality. He was tolerant of everyone.

If "Christianists" truly follow his example and his ministry, America would be a nicer place.

What I find most important in a POTUS is a person that values all people regardless of what they believe. It is quite possible to be a christian and believe in the Lord and still be excepting of all people. In fact Jesus tried his best to teach us how to love all people not just the holier than thou. The President of the United States should be there to represent all the people of this country, not just the ones sanctioned by the church. The creators of the constitution of the United States took great pains to insure that there would be separation of church and state. This was a very wise thing indeed.

Do you agree Mitt Romney represents the words you have typed.? Didn't Republican candidates except a couple dictate their religious right into America's faces.? What about the "Tea Party" a very conservative religious right group. Do they represent values of all Americans.? Do you believe a U.S. President should accept gay marriages, and abortions.? "Mitt Romney considers himself "in sync" with "The Tea Party." [Reuters 08/18/2011] "Mitt Romney wants to see Roe v. Wade overturned." {Meet The Press, 12/16/2007] "Mitt Romney used to say he was pro-choice, and now he's "avidly pro-life." [Sioux City Journal, [12/27/2007]

From what I can tell about Mitt Romney is that he blows with the wind. An example is the affordable heath care law was patterned, almost to the letter, off the health care law enacted in Massachusetts while Romney was Governor right down to the mandate clause. Now, because he must play to his constituents, he claims that he is completely against this plan. It is the very same one he was all for just a few years ago and has been a huge success for Massachusetts.

I have no idea what his religious beliefs are but I am convinced, based upon what he has said and done, that he is not for all the people. He will indeed insure that laws are passed that will benefit the rich people who are behind him and are paying the big bucks to get him there. He claims he is all for bringing the economy back but spends most of his time slamming Obama. It is clear that he must first get rid of his competition and then he may worry about the country. Maybe!

In almost everything you have said can't you see that he is far more against everything than for anything? What will he actually do when in office? Who knows? He has changed his perspective completely. Does that mean, once in office he will go back to what he believed before or will he be eve3n more radical.

I know much of Romney's corrupt history. This subject was about religion and politics. I was replying to your answer of how a U.S. President must value all people's beliefs. That is why I asked you if you believe in gay rights, gay marriages, abortions etc. Issues that majority formal, especially Christian religions object to. You say you don't know Romney's religious beliefs, yet Romney is part of the conservative religious right, and the "Tea Party."

I am a christian and I do believe in the Lord. But I believe in what Jesus taught us not what the old testament prescribed. If Jesus were alive today he would be described as a liberal. He believed that all people, regardless of their circumstance, were to be loved and respected.
I do not believe what many religious fundamentalist do because there is far to much hate involved.
So yes I do believe in Gay rights. I do not fully understand the gay motivation but I do know a woman that is gay and from that I have come to understand that it is not something to hate, it is something that we need to better understand. There are many Gay people that believe in the Lord every bit as much as hetro's and that is all that Jesus considers.

I believe that there are times when abortion is necessary. I do not believe it should ever be used as a form of birth control but if the health of the women is threatened in any way and an abortion is required then it should not be against the law.

I was born and raised a Baptist. I saw early on how oppressive fundamentalism is and could never really buy into it. I am now a Methodist and that is very much closer to what I believe. First and foremost I believe in human rights and dignity. I believe that a Governments role is not to pass laws that oppress people because of there belief or lack there of. The Government should be there for all the people and it is not their role to pass judgement.

The strength of the USA is its diversity--ethnic, cultural, social, religious (or non-religious). Five of the first 6 POTUS were equivalent to Unitarian-Universalists, who do not have a clergy, and do not accept the divinity of Jesus of Nazareth. No US president has ever been a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints (LDS, Mormons), a non-Christian religion in the sense that it REJECTS the Old and New Testaments and replaces them with their own "book of scripture" called The Book of Mormon. Mitt Willard (named after J. Willard Marriott, the billionaire founder of Marriott Hotels) Romney grew up as a Mormon in Detroit, and presided over a gay-bashing of one of his high-school classmates in 1965. In 1965, Mr. Obama was "Barry" Obama, learning to "hang ten" in Hawaii and play b-ball with his classmates. Hawaii is famous for its ethnically diverse heritage and tolerance, so similar to mainline American values. barry obama

Christians formed their own formal religious sects. Jesus did not form any formal religion or church himself while on Earth. Republican religious right such as "The Tea Party" were pushing their religious beliefs onto Americans while campaigning. They were mixing politics with their religious beliefs. Mitt Romney is the same way.

That is how it should be. "Separation of Church and State." When Bush was President, Donald Rumsfeld actually brought Bush written Bible scripture to justify the Iraq War. This 2012 Presidential campaign was all about Republican religious right groups such as "The Tea Party." Their purpose was not just about taxes, but pushing their religious beliefs. Romney is part of them.

1st of all It is not Christians place to judge homoseual people. Though we may be God's followers we are not God and only He has the right to judge them in the end, we are not supposed to do as they do but we are not suppose to condemn or insult them.
2nd i think you may be exagerating about Obama as you sound a bit biased.
3rd neither of these things should be the basis for who you choose for president, theres a lot more to it.
4th church of hate? what the heck is that?! sounds like a contradiction since God is love.

I support gay rights and christian values as well
