I would not enjoy it or ever want to be in that position but if it came down to it the trigger would be pulled without hesitation to eliminate the danger to myself or my family.

Then I would have to lawyer up to deal with the liberal courts. Ergh. >-(

It's not something that I'd wish to experience but I would do it if necessary. Life is a gift from God and we should be of sober minds anytime that we are faced with the death of any. That includes the taking of life when we are faced with imminent danger. We cannot take the death of any lightly, even of our foes. But saying that, Capital Punishment is an option that we need to revisit. We so little regard life that we have cheapened even the taking of it. And, I'm sad to say, that had this young man not killed little children, then they horror may have been a great deal less. But I have a question: Why can't the death of even YOUNGER children--the unborns--why can't THEIR DEATHS evoke similar horror? It's just emblematic of the "schitzophrenic acceptances" that we juggle: a wanted unborn is labored over to save where an unwanted one is discarded by the same doctor; we fight for the life of an assailant on death-row and we fight for abortive "rights;" we want peace without anyone having to be engaged in protecting it; and on and on.

I used to think that as well but you will not find one person that has ever experienced this that would not tell you to shoot to kill. Police officers are trained to assess the situation and when in doubt you shoot to kill. It is the way it works in the real world unfortunately

Is the pig's ass "PORK"? You can bet your ass that I'll do anything, including killing someone to protect my family. I'll probably do one better, after I kill the perp. I'd probably put him in my pick up truck, haul him or her to the hills and dump him, where it would take 10 years for anyone to find his remains. That way, I wouldn't even have to worry about a liberal judge trying to put me in jail for killing a perp without a trial. Don't laugh, because it already has happened in New Mexico.

I and the wife have the CC, my son-in-law (also a teacher of history) and my daughter have the CC. Would I, I've never had to and prefer not to use deadly force BUT----I would in a heartbeat use my CC.44 in defense of myself, family or someone else. Depriving citizens of their right to sport shoot, train, hunt or for self defense is not only a violation of the Constitution but of human rights. We can't stop someone like the school shooter unless we too are armed. It only took about 3 minutes for the first responders to arrive and by then look what happened. The school was a gun free zone, now, that didn't bother him did it? See what can happen in only a few minutes. Wasn't there a potential theater shooter in Texas within the last couple of day?? What happened-----there were two off duty officers in the crowd to watch the movie, guess what, they were carrying their off duty weapon AND the potential shooter is dead. WHY HAVEN'T WE HEARD THIS ON THE NEWS??? Goes counter to their desire to disarm the free citizens (and our governments desire) so they can be in total control.
