Would you help revive the American tradition of tarring and feathering if we could start with the bankers who have destroyed our nation?

Tea in the Harbor 2011/09/29 07:56:51
Everybody else was kidding, so I'll pretend I am too, don't tell anybody K?

But seriously, our founders wouldn't have stood for this, there would be two kinds of bankers left if they were still around. Honest ones, and those who lost the duels. If dueling were legal, I'd make the challenge myself. It isn't, I will harm no-one.

Tarring, feathering, and running people out of town on a rail however can be done in a courteous and respectful manner, if the subject is cooperative. If they aren't, obviously they are responsible for the results of their own actions!

I understand that bankers and investment managers have gotten away with destroying the world economy for personal gain, that they have done the nation far more damage than Al Queda ever did, and that both political parties think that's all just dandy. They see no need to hold anyone responsible for the largest con game ever played.

I take a slightly different view.

New York cops are beating and pepper spraying peaceful protestors on Wall Street every day, and they do it for one reason. They are protesting against people who the City of New York, and the residents of Washington for that matter, see as first class citizens. Second class citizens are not allowed to do that, and if you don't have a million on deposit somewhere you are a second class citizen.

This is the final step ladies and gentlemen, the Supreme Court says cash is a legitimate form of political speech, and our police say no other form will be tolerated any more. We're not having a class war, we've lost one.

You!

In my grandpa's day they did it to men who, after several warings to stop, kept abusing their wife and kids. Then they rode thyem out of town on a rail and told him never to come back. Then they took care of his wife and kids until they could take care of themselves.

The savages will be found in the buildings on Wall Street. They are not believers in freedom or justice.

Actually, the first ones who need to be tarred and feathered are our politicians.

I speak for myself, not for liberals. They destroyed the world economy intentionally for their own profit, you can kiss their asses for it if you want, I won't.

In a statement to Congress President Abraham Lincoln states, "I have two great enemies, the Southern Army in front of me and the financial institutions in the rear. Of the two the one in my rear is my greatest foe." Later that year on April 14 President Lincoln is assassinated, less than two months before the end of the American Civil War.

Actually it is not the bankers who destroyed our nation but the politicians and their public sector friends who rape and rob the taxpayers ...the recent financial crisis was created by the governments housing policy and it is still being practiced today by the GSEs...

What this pollster wants to do is "torture" the very people whose hands were tied on things like housing and forced, in a way, to make loans where they knew the people didn't qualify then blame them for not being able to untie their hands. It's interesting that he would use such tactics while, one would assume, oppose waterboarding of the truly bad people that would destroy this country and try to claim that this form of torture can be done in a courteous manner. He's a real winner.

I want to stop the people who destroyed the world economy. I would go to violence if it would meet that end, just like I would use violence if Al Queda were at my door. The only difference is that these enemies have more allies here.

I do not fear meeting violence, I consider accepting the end of equality in America a far greater crime, but as I said above I would only resort to violence if I believed it would solve the problem, and I don't believe that.

Tarring and feathering is a method of imposing public shame, something I think our financial leaders deserve in great abundance.

Sorry about the rave, I assure you it was accidental.

The fact remains that I do not. I believe in the laws our founders put in place, one of which was a ban on corporate political involvement of any sort.

Wrong, it was bankers trading unregulated mortgages on which the value was a fictional quantity to begin with. The politicians on the right are stopping any chance of recovery, but the bankers did the deed.

Saying those on the right are stopping any chance of recovery is quite arrogant as it assumes that what you believe will help is the only way to solve the problems.
