Would the world be a better place if there was no diversity?

    Just one skin color?

    One political ideology?

    One sports team?

    One style of music?

    One gender?

Honestly, anyone who answers yes to this has their own bias they need to overcome.

People(s) always will have some 'bone to pick' ... but religion is the single most divisive 'bone' of them all.

Even though I'm an atheist this is a complicated question. While I don't believe in any sort of"God". I think that the basic goal of most religions is for people to strive to do better in the way we treat people and the way we conduct ourselves.Unfortunately people are the one's to decipher the religious texts. For me I don't know what's more ridiculous trying to adhere to something word for word from thousands of years ago or trying to change it to suit you're own needs.

The world would be a better place if religon wasnt used to justify ignorance and closed mindedness. Religion is supposed to bring people together in belief not tear people apart in hate.

Actually, it's not the religion that's messing up the world. It's the people reading too much into it and doing stupid things with it. They're retarded.
So, to answer this question better:
The world would be a better place without stupidity.

Fate gives us hope and answers... the biggest problem is: there are to many languages, religions and politics...it makes all tings more complex.....way? Some minority of the people like to have power over others and they keep some things behind...all these things are barriers preserved for the puppeteers....but there are many things they don't understand...it's up to you to to understand for everybody....to seek true power is to seek in yourself and be there for everyone....all religions have just a part of the answers...put all together and the puzzle is less vage....Go and explore...

Personally, I can appreciate religion for what it has given us (some ideas, and a lot of art), but at the same time, it has also done bad. Well, the religion didn't but the people who preach it do the bad. I think religion needs to be approached with skepticism, and not taken with blind faith.

Religion is not for me at all! Do I want it to disappear entirely? Nah..who would I have to pick on then. Truthfully though it's all about diversity. I prefer not having a mass of people thinking like me!

Absolutely. What have religions done to help Humanity create a world that works for All? Look at the Vatican, piling up the loot by selling lies and Hopes for a better Life, while they take the Money from the believers to live a Great Life Here and Now. Why is a man wearing Ermine Furs allowed to preach to others about Poverty ? religions are tool for Mass Distraction, they divide and rule over the Minds of People who were scared in childhood that if they did not toe the line they would go to Hell, each one in their religiously divided Hell of course. Religion is Child Abuse, if one has been so naive to buy into the BS, that's not a green light to pass it on to their children, haven't they been damaged enough to see the NON value of it? And WHO says we need religions to know right from wrong, are we stupid, who doesn't know that killing, violence, rape, war, dishonesty and stealing resources from poor countries is unacceptable? And yet the people who go to Church do all these things and more, so where is the fail-safe that religion promises to offer in exchange for all the guilt, shame and Fear they teach? For what they offer and the price people pay for it, they are a very very bad deal.

Great question! I think that many people cannot imagine a world without religion. I think that many people have thrived off of some sort of structure...iwhether it be routine, education, or even religion. I cannot think of the world lacking religion...I automatically want to think that it will b weird without it.

When you consider that America has turned GOD out of school, government, football, basketball, baseball, etc. and has tried to turn GOD out of Christmas. America already has no religion and now we have more murders, robberies, rapes, etc. than we did before when GOD was included in our schools. Children are not being taught about GOD so they have no conscious since they think that you live and die and that’s the end. With Christians we believe there is life after death and that you will be held accountable for your sins, that is why Christians try and live by higher standards and high morals. If you are an atheist why bother because you know when you die that it. Makes a lot of difference and we are seeing what happens when GOD is left out of our school, Columbine, WV Tech, Newtown, etc.

These do not include people coming to schools to kill spouses, or teachers, or professors or men taking hostages of students or killing school children like in murdered five Amish girls and injured five others before killing himself in an Amish school in the hamlet of Nickel Mines, in Bart Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. These are just student killing teachers or fellow students.

What about all the mostly Atheist countries like Sweden and such that have some of the lowest crime rates in the world? What about the fact that the Southern states have the highest crime rates and also are the most religious? There are plenty more facts that seem to show an actual increase in crime associated with religion. I am not for there being no religion. Religion is not for me but I don't care if others have it, I do however disagree entirely with these incidents having to do with god in school or such. Actually I have lists and lists of crimes committed by religious people. Only 2% of the jail population in America is Atheist as well.

There's a huge difference in worshiping a religion who keep down groups of people, and active use a religion to keep the same group down.

Its hard to belive that religions are ment to depress people, but never the less its easy to see that a large number of people who use their religion to take advantage of others.

Societies free of religions have been tried before, just look at earlier Soviet and Cambodia, and todays N. Korea, The leaders start to behave like gods and the people(voluntary or by force)have to worship them instead.

And what about the free and liberal west?
We leave our god but just to find a new god around the corner, mammon!
Money, fast cars, large homes and gadgets cant buy us other than short lived happines.

Keep your faith and care for your family, thats the only way.

I would imagine the world would be pretty much the same. People would still hate each other and love each other. Babies would be born and old people would die. We would create great art, cure diseases, and invent wonderful things. We would also go to war for land or resources, seek revenge rather than justice, and hate people who are different. Some people would lie, cheat, and steal and some would always act out of kindness, charity, and with honesty. People would still do all the great things and all the terrible things we do now.

I don't blame religion for all the bad things in the world and I don't credit religion for all the good things. :-)
