No. I don't want to go back and have white school kids beat me up behind school yards. It is better today- look at the african americans who have better themselves- look at the Judeo-Christian families. It is the vile liberals that want us to continue this destruction of our human race. And that is the fact............don't like what I said.....pass me by americans judeo-christian families vile liberals continue destruction human race pass

I wouldn't have been born if the 60's never happened. Of course if the 60's didn't happen, the 70's would have been the 60's instead of the 70's which might have been more interesting anyway, assuming I could have been born in the 70's which would really be the 60's..

I'm not sure how you can prevent a decade from happening, or what that even means. It is pretty nonsensical, which I guess is my point.

It would have ben better off if the Republicans had been in charge after the Democrats President had been murderered ........... I've been shocked that the Democrat Party had jumped on the coat tails of a newly dead president, but they did. ........ And there is every evidence that the De mocrats had a hand in this man's death. A Republican at the time Senator Spector.

A very interesting question! Although I really don't know, I tend to think that we'd be worse off if the 60's had never occurred. From what I historically seen on film and read, it seems that people pushed for major change and for more rights.

60s occurred historically film read people pushed major change rights

We had the Vietnam War, but most was positive. Civil rights advancements, freedom on speech was exercised like never before, music moved in new and varied directions, the ground roots of the ecology movement were born, the country looked to space and saw a man walk on the moon for the first time in recorded history.

This makes me mad, we were the best generation that I know in this backward country. I may be old now but I will always be a hippie from the late 60's. early 70's. We fought and won everything that was important to this country, many died but will never be forgotten. We forced a president not to run again, ended a unjust war in Nam and won civil rights. What have you done?
We were enlightened and informed. What about you. If you were not a part of that era you don't know what you are talking about so why not just keep quite.

    Peace, Love, Happiness

The '60's were more than just hippies, grass & rock music. The civil rights revolution happened then, too and millions of blacks and other minorities finally had their rights as American citizens acknowledged by the white majority, or at least most of it. Women were questioning the social roles they were expected to play. There were even questions raised about what had been thought to be unquestionably true, such as gender identity and "normal" sex. The whole decade was marked by mass questioning of all sorts of assumtions about who one was, what was America about, what is the good life. Not all the answers found were good ones, but every society benefits by having these sorts of questions asked and assumptions challenged every so often.

The 60's was great for me, but I wished that the U.S. hadn't gone into war(Vietnam), alot of our soliders were killed. The U.S. knew that they couldn't win that war before they went over there. Alot of our people were killed for nothing!
