Well, Buddy Jesus. That love-thou-neighbor, caring, peaceful, charitable one in the Bible MUST be a commie-hippie-liberal-socialist made up by democrats!

I do not think they would know Jesus if he told him, they would probably lock him up and call him insane.

Neocons probably wouldn't, but true Conservatives would in a heartbeat.

JESUS IS THE ONLY SALVATION FOR THE WORLD.
Jesus Died for YOU - 1 Cor. 15:3

    (Matthew 10:32 & 33): "Everyone therefore
who acknowledges me before others, I also will acknowledge
before My Father in heaven; but whosoever denies Me
before others, I also will deny before My
    Father in heaven".

I am a Republican because I believe in free enterprise and personal initiative for economic growth and prosperity. I Believe in the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I Believe in limited government and lower taxes. I Believe in strong national defense. I Believe in God and Country. I Believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for converting these ideals into successful Principles of government.

But, the better question is would Jesus vote for A Democratic Party. The party that is looking to remove God from all things voted it out along with Jerusalem. Hummmm. I think that piss him off just a bit.

Is money really something Holy enough to bare the name of God?

Sounds more like you're worshipping money.

You can't even make that reach from what I said. The Democratic Party voted out God and Jerusalem - having nothing to do with money - if you were paying any attention.

Will our voting ballot have Jesus on it? I hadn't heard anything about a Jesus running for political office.

    Does it matter?
You've proposed a hypothetical situation, assumed that Jesus would even run for an office, and put forth a provocation under the guise of a question.

I would bet that there would be very few people in either party that would vote for Him. They want nothing to do with Him now For all their sins would be against the law.

Everybody knows that GOD is a Libertarian, so it only follows that Jesus would be as well.

And we all should know what republicans think of libertarians.

I think its difficult to place Jesus in any political party in the US, because he wouldn't take part in this Capitalistic system that we're all forced to be a part of. But that's a huge factor that defines how we look at politics.

The right thing to do for example is feed the poor.... but in a Capitalistic system, you need money to do so... where does that money come from, donations, what if it's not enough, we have to use taxes... and further down the spiral we go. Its just a conflicting system with Christianity since it financially penalizes doing the right thing.

Jesus would be seen as an outsider, someone advocating for a totally different way of life that today would be difficult for people to imagine.

I'll agree with you on this much: Jesus was definitely an anti-establishment kind of Guy. I take Scripture to mean He fought--fights or would fight--against pretty much any statist quo. That was certainly true of his short ministry on earth. He was as much at odds with the 'money changers (loosely, capitalists)' as He was with the Jewish and Roman governments.

But I think it is here where our agreement may run a little thin. :-) In short, Jesus seems to me to have been a Voluntaryist or Libertarian in his general philosophy. At NO time did He ever call on government to FORCE others to be charitable as through taxes. I suppose He understood, as we do, that forced 'charity' is meaningless--and He was all about changing the HEARTS of men/women as well as their minds.

Now I think I can guess what you were thinking when you read the paragraph above. You were mentally referring to the passage in Scripture where Jesus instructs us to "give to Caesar what is Caesar's." Well, here's the thing. He was responding to an attempt at entrapment by the Pharisees, and was wise enough to have formulated the only possible response. A response which was as true today as it was then: NOTHING belongs to Caesar. Everything we have belongs to GOD!

Jesus wouldn't participate as a politician. He's the King of Kings. But America didn't invent capitalism. It existed in 1st Century Palestine as described in the Bible. People owned ships and went fishing. That's a business. People owned land and hired people to tend crops. That's a business. People had to earn a living back then too. The big difference is that govt didn't interfere in people's lives, even if they were starving to death. That was the job of people who had businesses, jobs, or other sources of wealth. God rewards those who voluntarily give to the poor. He cannot reward people for being robbed by government in the name of the poor. Government robs us not only of our money, but of God's Blessings.
