Jesus quoted from Genesis giving the definition of marriage being between one man and one woman. Nowhere is scripture is their any other definition of marriage-NOWHERE.

But it is not the business of government to determine what Jesus would say or do, so if the government is going to engage in marriage then it should do gay marriage.

@ Gary1212: Jesus' teachings were AFTER the Old Testament. That was why he was so radical and controversial - because he told everyone about a loving god, a FORGIVING god, NOT the vengeful god of the Old Testament.

Real Christians are under orders from Jesus to love their fellow humans. They should not hate gays anymore than they hate adulterers, or liars. "Love the sinner hate the sinful act".

Sin is the willful disobedience of God. Sin comes naturally. Every baby is a born thief, and every toddler a natural liar.

Because something feels good to you doesn't make it right. It probably felt good to Jim Holmes to shoot up that movie theater but he knew it was wrong because somewhere in his upbringing someone certainly told him "you shall not murder".
The Bible tells us "a man shall not lie down with a man as he would with a woman".

God does not damn anybody, He Offers the gift of eternal life to all who will accept Him as their savior and obey his commandments. When unbelievers refuse that offer, they condemn themselves.

Christians don't condemn them, they love them and pray for them.

We were all born liars,, thieves and sinners. God will help us to not sin. The choice is ours. I choose eternal life.

They would have to go to a Roman temple to have it done (if that was even allowed back then) and would have been shunned by Jews.

Jesus would never go to a Roman temple. Then Roman temples were dedicated to pagan false gods, idols.

Jesus only recognized the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem.

Historically speaking, weddings in Judea were usually conducted at home or in neighborhood Jewish synagogues by rabbis, not by the priests in the temple.

    Not three days of torture.

Thursday evening they Celebrated the Passover seder, "the last supper" Then went into the garden on the next hill "Mount of Olives" to pray, where He was betrayed by Judas and arrested by temple guards.

Thursday night He was taken to the temple rectory and questioned by the Jewish high priest and charged with blasphemy (for saying He was God).

Friday before dawn He was taken to the Roman Prefect, Pontius Pilate where He was questioned, beaten and flogged.

Friday morning He was sentenced to death for treason (He called himself a king).
He was crucified at about 9:AM Friday morning and died at about 6:PM and was buried in a nearby tomb before sunset that same Friday.

He was buried on Friday (day 1), remained in the tomb Saturday (day 2) and rose from the dead on Sunday (day 3), "On the third day he rose from the dead".

As you see He suffered for 22 hours or less. But it was a horrible torment, and He didn't deserve it, we did.

I hope I've made the time sequence clearer for you.
