Would it help Romney's chances for election if he announced he would not take a salary as president?

The last president who refused a salary for his job as president was John F Kennedy. He obviously didn't need the money and neither does Mitt. Most people don't begrudge a person for being wealthy. It's the greed factor that is irksome. Would it help Romney's chances if he followed Kennedy's lead?

If he would have started his campaign with it.... I'd say that he was being honest. now I'd say that it's a ploy for votes.

At this point and time, no one wants another Obama. He should just leave the race and let Ron Paul get Obama out of office.

That notion is a symptom of class warfare, the new bigotry.

The Presidency is a job, admittedly a Political job,and no matter how much money you have,no one should be expected,or asked to work for nothing, only a ignoramus would ask,or expect someone to work for nothing!

Hmmm, when I was in college and looking for work, I took on a non-paying internship at a TV station that ultimately landed me a job as a reporter/anchor. Soooo.....would that be "ignoramus" of me?

Not many people can afford to take a non paying job,you ether had someone supporting your ass,or you have money.

I personally think Mitt should have thought of this a while ago. Even giving up his "potential" $400,000 salary can't reverse the egregious gaffes he's made over the past several months. Coming from a family with money, he brags about his wealth--probably unwittingly--and acts much too "nouveau riche" to score with the average voter. I say it's way too late. But it wouldn't hurt for him to just shut up, starting now, about his Cadillacs and car elevators.

When did being a successful leader become a negative for being president? Romney should always compare his success to Obama's failure.
