Obama ...he has been to many gay bath houses in the Chicago and Milwaukee areas.( I dont think they are part of a public tour)
Its been rumored that he has had several male lovers (Kal Penn for one). I would like to think the next gay president will be much much better than this one....

Like I said in an earlier post, it doesn't matter to me the color of their skin, their religion or orientation. As long as they do their best to get us out of the trouble we're in.

I oppose homosexuality totally on religious grounds--what they ( gays) do in their own homes with their bodies is their own business NOT MINE. A man's home is his castle in my view. However, by having a gay president it certainly would add a whole new meaning to the phrase " White House poltical deals with US Congress"!

No it was his long time "room mate" secretary that he left all of his belongings too that suggests more than a platonic relationship. That, plus the fact that he was a fashionista with impeccable taste goes a long way in promoting this ideal.

Then IF those things YOU are the ONLY sign of someone being gay then I suggest your evidence is very weak becuase several other of our presidents also fall into your defination of who is gay. For example, Chester Arthur was known a a stylish dresser his entire life but no one would suggest he was gay becuase he had a wife and I beleave a daughter, too. Also Glover Cleveland was known to be a stylish dresser but again he was not gay do to the fact he fathered several children from women MUCH younger than himself--I think his wife was 35 younger than himself but I could be wrong on that point. Also I remind you that James Buchancan was actaully engaged to be married when he was younger but the woman died a few weeks before the wedding. Naturally he was grief stricken after her death and he resolved never to marry. However, you may have a point that several of our presidents had rather strange sex lives--I think Abraham Lincoln's relationship with Mary Todd is a classic point since clearly they both suffered mental illiness. Then there is the caseof Thomas Jefferson who claimed to hate slavery but refused to free his slaves especially one slave named Sally Hemmings who he father children with over the years. And finally, my favorite, Andrew Jackson-a fellow Tennesseen-he was ALWA...

And finally, my favorite, Andrew Jackson-a fellow Tennesseen-he was ALWAYS into fighting someone and I think he sort of liked fighting for its own sake, too. He married a woman named Rachel who was married to another man and living alone in Nashville, TN. Clearly "Old Hickory" loved Rachal even though she smoked a pipes but he married her anyway.Well when the newspapers found out she had two husbands --one of the newspapers called her a whore in print which enraged "Old Hickory" who challenged the editor to a duel since this violated his code of conduct as a man. Needless to say Andrew Jackson simply shot and killed that editor in a fair duel outside of Nashville-Tn.

No these are not my only reasons there is much more evidence that points to Buchanan I just did not feel the need to rewrite those things already written. I
pointed you in the direction now go prove me wrong. I agree with you in the sense that we focus too much attention on the sex lives of people kind of points to the prudish nature of who we are as Americans: violence is ok but SEX! No way.

Yes, we do focus too much on sex lives of famous people. I must admit I forgot one who is rather strange in my humble opinion at least by modern standards of conduct--James A. Garfield---long before he became president he worked on an old fashioned Mississippi River Boat as the "muscle" for a bunch of whores ( women who charges money for sex from men and sometimes even other women : NOT my ex girlfreind)-meaning he "protected them from other men and the law" .As a young man, James A. Garfield knew he needed money to advance his learning. So at the age of 16, he struck out on his own, drawn seaward by dreams of being a seaman, and got a job for six weeks as a canal driver near Cleveland. Illness forced him to return home and, once recuperated, he began school and shortly after that he joined the Disciples of Christ Church and spent the rest of his life as something close to a religous person even to the point of he acting like a religious nut in my opinion.
We truly have had some odd people as president of the USA and yes some of them are boarderline crazy in my opinon both Reagan, Clinton, Harding, Wilson ( I feel very strongly he was crazy) , LBJ, and Nixon even though they actaully did Some good for the country.I hate to tell you this I have a feeling Obama isn't that far o...

Yes, I would be bothered with Barney Frank taking the oath of office as POTUS while his "wife" stood by in a three piece blue suit to match, symbols of sodomy and loss of
values in a society gone amok about sexual activities and little else.

The term, "homophobic" by the way, literally means "adversion to humans, or "homo"" It has nothing to do with sodomites or lesbian sexual preferences, except as it was captured by those who promote such as a political or social movement.

The fact that a president would be gay doesn't bother me that much. The fact that a gay political agenda would be cramed down the throats of the American people that don't want it and don't think it's necessary, that bothers me.

Again, of the 31 states that have put same-sex marriage to a popular vote ("for the people, by the people"), all 31 states have shot it down. Fact.

But really and truly, what does Homosexuality and the job have to do with each other?
Even a recovering (Re-Alcoholic) can actually do a decent job.
That's what's important, not what they do in their spare time, unless it's illegal, or extremely irresponsible.
But whether they can do the job, that is what's important.
George W Bush managed to do it drunk half of the time... somehow. ;)

And "philia" implies love but no one would tell you that a hemophiliac person is someone who loves blood. You can't traslate greek (or latin) particles literally because in many cases the traslation will be wrong.
