I wish her parents would have exercised some common sense and used birth control.

No one has a right to free birth control. If you can't afford it, then have your partner get a condom or keep your legs closed. I can't believe they're trying to bring this Fluke moron back into the light.

Some women have periods so painful that they cannot function normally and vomit and get severe headaches. Some women have ovarian cysts. Some women NEED birth control, it is a medical neccesity for some women, actually, in order to lead a normal life. I think those people have a right to live a normal life, which means they have a right to free contraceptives.

No they do not. This is a health insurance issue. We as tax payers are not obligated to fund anyone's sex life. Go peddle your socialist beliefs elsewhere.

Why don't you go peddle your selfishness elsewhere, because it sure doesn't get any progress happening. 'They do not'? As in 'women who have medical conditions and don't have insurance should not be provided free birth control'? Reeeeal sensical, there....

More socialist crap. It's exactly that kind of thinking that has put us further and further into debt in this country. As I said before, the taxpayers are NOT obligated to fund anyone's sex life.

A lot of good arguments against her here, ranging from "She's a whore!" To "she's a communist, I wish her mom used birth control!"

I applaud her for taking a stand against sexism. Considering Viagra, a drug created with the sole purpose of allowing men to have sex is often provided free, why shouldn't contraceptives, which often have other medical benefits, be provided to women? It's plain sexist, nothing more, and the people mad at her for wanting free birth control should be mad at the people who need Viagra to get it up. Sometimes birth control is a medical neccesity, like with ovarian cysts or extreme menstrual pain. And if you're pro-life, why wouldn't you want to prevent an abortion from happening by giving birth control to someone who doesn't want a baby? The arguments against Sandra Fluke make absolutely no sense.

Viagra can be obtained through health insurance, not, by holding your hand out to the government. The tax payers of the country are NOT responsible for funding anyone's sex life. However, if Fluke or anyone has health insurance(that they pay for themselves) that allows for such things than that is on the insurance provider. Otherwise, she can have her partner get a condom or keep her legs closed. This isn't a sexist issue, it is a financial one and the time for government freebies needs to end.

It is solely a sexist issue. There is nothing about this issue that isn't sexist, especially considering that after this intelligent capable woman bravely took a stand for women's rights, she gets called a 'slut'. What about this is not sexist? Birth control would not be that expensive to provide.

Well, then if it is not that expensive, she should be able to pay for it herself and not even have to bother with her health insurance. The taxpayers are not obligated to fund this women's sex life. BTW, viagra would be obtained through a health insurance policy. Did you notice that we are so far in debt? No one is entitled to free stuff and it time the government took this stance as well.

I do notice we're in debt--being ridiculously selfish for no reason isn't going to help. Raising taxes sure would.

So you propose that we raise taxes so that the already overtaxed middle class(you know the people who ACTUALLY work and pay taxes) can fund all these little slackers? Seriously?
Now, I will admit that there are some(some) legitimate welfare cases, however, the welfare system, as well as the system in general NEEDS to become much more "selfish" if we are ever to hope to save our failing economy.

I knew you could not remain civil you free-loading jack-ass. I knew all you had were completely selfish reasons for your stance here as well. You are exactly what is wrong with this country you lazy loser. I knew if I gave you enough rope you would hang yourself here and I was absolutely correct. Get this through your head there welfare boy: Society does not owe you a damn thing. Now get off your lazy ass and get a job. It's time the gravy train was dismantled.
And now, for being a complete waste and a leech on society in general, YOU ARE DISMISSED!!
Now suck on that you worthless leech on the ass of America.
    Buh.....bye!!
