We're constantly bombarded with propaganda about how women should join the Armed Forces (the Military), with everyone telling us how great they are, and how they can do all the jobs just as well as men; but how many of you would like to live in a country that was defended entirely by women i.e. how many of you think that women could defend the country just as well as men?

    I have stood shoulder to shoulder with women in Iraq. They were equal as any guy I fought with. They jumped from airplanes along with me,, walked the desert with me ans fired a weapon as good or better then some guys

    I don't judge by gender or any of that but by individual merit I say give them equal chance for all positions and choose the best ones regardless of gender. Also from personal experience I know women can be just as good in combat and have done so throughout history. Though I know that'll have no effect on your opinion I can already tell you've chosen your side people always use the word propaganda when it's a message of something they're against.

    Hmm, you say "women are not allowed in combat situations"....BULL SCHITT.....SOME OF THE BEST MILITARY PILOTS ARE WOMEN....SOMEOF THE BEST SHOTS ARE WOMEN...AND SOME OF THE BEST GRUNTS ARE WOMEN....MY GRAND DAUGHTER WAS AND COULD DISARM A ROADSIDE BOMB BETTER AND FASTER THEN A MAN AND NOT EVEN BREAK A SWEAT.

    Pentagon Allows Women Closer to Combat but not on front lines.
    Reflecting the steady but glacial evolution of the role of American women in war, the Pentagon took a small step Thursday and announced that women would be formally permitted in crucial and dangerous jobs closer to the front lines. But it stopped short of officially allowing women to serve in combat.

    I find it amazing that in this country we tell women that they can go onto the battle field and ingage in hand to hand combat with a male enemy and come out on top in that situation, but when that same female soldier comes home she is told that she is incapable of competing against a man in say the football or basketball, Hell they can't even play against men in golf.



    But boy they can take a Bayonett and overcome a 6'5" 250lb man in combat no problem.

    There certainly are jobs for women in the forces; maybe my first post was a bit too aggressive; If so, it's a backlash against the bloody political correctness that we face every bloody day in the British Forces!

    Generally speaking, by natural design physical combat is not a woman's strong point. As far as technical combat, I'm not sure. Piloting may be an even split but men seem to be drawn to video games much more than women for some reason (drones). My main concern would be what would an enemy do to women pow's.

    I never said they didn't think of or accept the risk, and I fully realize women can be tough as nails. You can color me whatever you want (old fashioned, sexist etc), but for whatever reason, I simply feel more protective of women.

    Not enough, clearly. If you had, you'd realise that the women, though useful in some ways, simply can't do the work that a man can. I respect you for your service overseas, but I cannot condone women fighting for me or my country!
