It shouldn't be so, but the sad fact is that women often don't get the credit they deserve, so in order to be recognized, they have to work much harder to even begin to get noticed.

Ladies, I'm deeply sorry that so many men treat you so poorly. You deserve better.

Not....specially not in the western countries where women have special rights that protect them. Honestly, you women watch toooo much TV and read too much feminist propaganda. And that thing about women getting paid $0.78 cents for every $1.00 a man makes is a BS. Why? i bet many of you don't know how it is calculated, well let me educate you. The government takes all the salaries made by men and those made by women, disregarding the fact that men work longer hours, take dangerous and high stress jobs, and work in fields where they get paid more (such as engineering and finance,) and then compares them...-______-

Nope its only gonna get worst. Pretty soon, you gonna have to work like a slave just to put food on your table and pay the fed. It was good back in the sixties when you could work at the gas station and be able to support a whole family, but now hahahaha, you have to get all kinds of degrees just so you can make the same amount of money.

I think they think they have to work twice as hard to be considered worthy. But, they are devious and manipulative, so maybe there is a reason.

Go into engineering. It's about the closest thing to a meritocracy that you'll ever find.

Of course once you move into management, all bets are off. They live and die by politics.

I noticed in my male-headed high school classes that when a girl gives a wrong answer, she's "stupid", but when a guy is wrong, he's "mistaken". And guys are expected to be competent, but when a girl does well she's a prodigy, a credit to her gender.

That's just in school. Women continue to be outnumbered by men in the scientific fields, in leadership positions, in the corporate world--and men can make the argument that it's because women don't try hard enough to enter these fields, but when the fact is that a woman CEO makes less than her subordinate counterparts, it's hard to believe it's really a fair trial for women in the workplace, etc.

duh of course we are getting outnumber. WE DON'T NEED TO SHOW THE WORLD THAT WE CAN DO IT AS WELL. We no longer have to support a family, so there is no point on trying to get a high paying job where you work as a slave, besides, being in a heavy metal band pays more and you get to have fun. And by leadership positions you mean managers right? Well honey, let me tell you most of these women aren't even qualified to hold those positions, they get there because of affirmative action, feminized schools, and because men today don't want to take responsibility. Like every women here, you are extremely unsure of yourself

I think women don't waste a lot of time doing what they have to do. Before a woman goes to sleep she has her whole next day mapped out. However, there are some men that have their stuff together also, but I wouldn't say that one is better than the other.

This is still true in too many fields.

I am an environmental engineer, and there are not many women working in this field in general, and it is even rarer to encounter female PhD. I've actually had clients question my expertise because of my gender and appearance -- some outright telling me that they would feel more comfortable talking to one of my male employees, even knowing that they were less experienced and answered to me. I've been confused for my secretary on more than one occasion -- people looking for Dr. Imnotgonnasaymylastname asking me when he will be back in his office.

I don't expect that my example is the standard, as many fields have improved, but for women in engineering, we have to work to overcome prejudice and stereotypes.

I don't judge anyone for their sex, sexual orentation, race, religion, or anything like that.

I would love to say that everyone is the same as me in that regard, but I can't. A woman does not have to work twice as hard to get my respect or admiration.

I'm not saying I don't judge people. I just judge them based on what I can tell about them. For instance. I HATE stupid people.

I'd like to say false, because anyone who matters knows this isn't true anymore.

However, there are still a lot of backward folk out there who think that women are to blame for the first sin and therefore consider us to be less valuable than a man. They don't matter in my world, though.

But not by a lot, unfortunately. It may have been true a few decades ago but not as much today.

However, women do still get paid less than men for doing the same exact job. Each year the new numbers come out. I believe in my state (Illinois) it was still around 10% less. The horrible thing is that it hasn't moved much in the last 10 years.

ok i`ll admit that it was true by and large, and i`m sure it does still happen from time to time. However; in the last ten years i can tell you from personal experience, that woman and latinos are the only people getting work in southern California. Ok maybe not now that to our so-called president and all his stupid ideas and his corrupted administration is in power.
Soon no one will have jobs, and maybe we will be blessed by that, because all of these illegal assholes will go back where they came from, or they will try to infiltrate China for work.
Good luck on that one by the way.
