This is outrageous and just a preview of the police state that's coming. And it was never revealed why these "security people" accosted this woman and carried her off like a captured animal. Which looney bin did these "security people" escape from? I hope that this woman sues them out of existance.

This is what happened. What does it have to do with President Obama, other than the fact that he was going to be landing? Airport Security has a right to remove anyone for any reason especially when a president will be ariving soon. If she failed to cooperate than she asked for it in my opinion.

Obama doing a little brooming at LAX this morning...

A reporter for a small newspaper was forcibly removed from a press area near Air Force One shortly before President Barack Obama arrived at Los Angeles International Airport to depart California early Thursday.

Airport security officers carried the woman away by the feet and arms as she protested her removal.

She later identified herself as Brenda Lee, a writer for the Georgia Informer in Macon and said she has White House press credentials. The newspaper's Web site says it is a monthly publication, and a Brenda Lee column is posted on it.

Calls to the newspaper and the White House press office were not immediately returned.

Lee said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press that she wanted to hand Obama a letter urging him "to take a stand for traditional marriage."

Calls to the newspaper and the White House press office were not immediately returned.

Lee said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press that she wanted to hand Obama a letter urging him "to take a stand for traditional marriage."

She said she asked a Secret Service agent to give the president her letter, but he refused and referred her to a White House staffer. Lee said she refused to give the staffer the letter.

"I said, 'I'll take my chances if (the president) comes by here,'" said Lee, who identified herself as a Roman Catholic priestess who lives in Anaheim, Calif. "He became annoyed that I wouldn't give him the letter."

Lee, who was wearing what she described as a cassock, said she protested when she was asked to leave.

"I said, 'Why are you bothering me?' They escorted me outside the gate," she said.

She said security officers allowed her to return when she promised she would not yell or wave, but then other officers arrived and told her to leave.

"I said, 'I'm not leaving,'" she said. "They tried to drag me out."

Two officers then picked her up and carried her out. An Associated Press photographer photographed the incident.

"I was afraid you could see under my clothes," she said, her voice choking up.

Lee, who said this was the second presidential event she has covered, was later released.

The incident occurred about 10 minutes before Obama arrived at the airport by helicopter to board Air Force One. He had been in Los Angeles to attend a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Beverly Hills on Wednesday.

Well that's what the article said happened, regardless of what it looks like. She was released later. No big deal. Why did she think she could hand the president anything? She should know better than to mess around in an airport, with a president arriving.

What rights do you have in an airport when a president is arriving? They asked her to leave. She refused, and they removed her and released her later. No big deal. Airport security doing their jobs.

Do you think the president is the only one with rights An airport is a public place and everyone has a right to be there.Or do they give special rights to people that have Big Ears and is stipid as hell.

Since 9/11 things have changed a great deal in airport security, in case you haven't noticed. People can't just hand things to the president, because they want to. People can't hang out in the airport, when asked to leave by airport security, when a president is arriving. This would be the case regardless of who is president, for security reasons. Anyone that can't understand that is pretty stupid themselves.

Why would the president be escorted through the main lobby of an air port does not make senses of security was a problem. What would be the problem with one of the security guards escorting the lady while she spook with the president.I do not under stand why all LWNJ's want to take away everyones rights so this NUT (i did use the N word) Can walk through a air port.
    • Jay RED DAWN November 23, 2009 21:47:50

No one is allowed to hand the president anything, without it first being examined etc. Not this president or any other president. Don't you think air port security has a heard enough job, without people thinking they can do that? She refused to let them read the letter. The letter could have been tainted with anthrax for all they'd know. The woman was asked to leave, she didn't and was removed. No big deal, and nothing to do with Obama! I'm sure it's standard procedure followed by airport security, when I president is landing.

She was there with her press credentials to cover Obama's visit. The Secret Service obviously scrutinized everyone present and deemed her to be a potential threat to embarrassing the president. So they wanted to remove her from the premises. Don't know what happened, but she did speak to an ABC reporter, as you can see from the video. Had she gotten into the car, that would not have happened. I suspect the cameraman may have leaked this footage. Immediately after it went up, another went up to attack her with ugly accusations. http://www.youtube.com/watch?...
