We can't stand by and let our fellow Americans on the East Coast, Joplin and AL suffer while the GOP House holds them hostage. Contact your local DNC rep. to get the permits needed for once a week protests at the local GOP offices. Gets your petitions signed, make phone calls to contact neighbors also outraged, you could be next getting wiped out. Lets them know we are America who does not let our fellow Americans suffer when we could help. Our country should come together looking out for each other when disaster hits, not be held hostage to a political whim. Don't wait a day, start now, your neighbors need your help. We have the right of assembly and the right to petition our government, use it for those in need is the best exercise of freedoms we have in our great nation.

Petition to House Rep. -----------------

Re: Disaster Relief

Dear Rep. -------------------------------------------:

We want you to represent our belief that the victims of tornandos and hurricanes should receive relief immediately without any conditions using an immediate vote on a relief bill to be sent to the Senate within a week. We find your holding hostage our suffering neighbors a disgraceful political exercise. We will be outside your offices in mass protests until you do the will of the people. Any delay will result in all of us working against your re-election.

    What is with these Democrats.... do they all suffer from short-term memory loss or something? Why is is that the Republicans always have to constantly REMIND them that we can no longer spend money we DON'T HAVE.

    Trillions in debt.... debt ceiling reached... credit rating dropping.... economy in the tank with no sign of recovery .... what has to happen for them to finally GET IT? Maybe we can get a pair of those giant scissors that they use for ribbon-cutting ceremonies, bring them to the floor of the Senate and ceremoniously cut up enormous credit cards.

    "Where can we cut the funds to pay for this? Hmm, what do we currently spend money on that is LESS IMPORTANT than helping Americans out of a natural disaster?" I'll give you a hint.... just about EVERYTHING! It isn't that tough....should take about a half an hour. The only reason it isn't ALREADY done is that the Democrats want to play the "mean old GOP" routine again.

    Doubling the medicare tax putting it on all income is a 1.5% increase, an equal shared pain that makes the fund solvent doubling the 1/2 trillion revenue to 1 trillion, the amount paid out. That produces 7 trillion in debt reduction over a decade. Cut the military budget by 40%, the intel budget by 30% since both are far too bloated beyond what is needed for security. Use Sen. Coburn's ideas of not having 40 agencies do the same job putting programs under one roof. End the agriculture subsidies, fossil fuel welfare (15% depreciation allowance) instead a writeoff to pump steam into temp capped wells to produced another 1 million bbls daily within a year domestically. Put capital gains over 10 million to the same IRS min of 28% on earned income above a million. End the cap on social security income to make it solvent well beyond 2037. The GOP want cuts in education, clean air testing, food stamps, while wanting to increase the 2 trillion sitting on balance sheets waiting for a market. Newsflash, increasing it by cutting demand will not get it invested. Only a fool expands without a market.

    Frankly, I'd rather whip Cantor into submission in a Dominatrix setting, of course. Don't ask why, he just seems to be the kind of guy who'd like to be on the receiving end of that.

    The GOP and their Tea Party masters are good at holding the poor and needy hostage. During the whole debt ceiling crisis they showed their true colors. To hell with the elderly, the sick, the poor and our veterans. The only people that matter are the wealthy and the corporate overlords of America.

    Look into the mirror hateful one. Go to your temple of rich man worship to pray for more pain to the needy. Joplin has need of 13 billion in reconstruction funds that have not gotten the OK from temple leaders Boehner and Cantor. It saddens me to see misinformed hateful Americans posting nonsense.

    I think people need to be exclude from the AID like everyone that voted for that moron on the top of this page. Virginia should be the last to get a dine. The Constitutional amendment we need is to be able to recall members of both houses.

    Stop pretending that the regular people get any help anyway. It always goes to the business's first and then the dirt poor.

    First time victim of tornado, hurricane, flood, earthquake, Tsunami, maybe compensation. Second time around, not no, but Hell no. And certainly no petitions to try to help people that should know better before the second occurance.

    When the Nazis came for the communists,
    I remained silent;
    I was not a communist.

    When they locked up the social democrats,
    I remained silent;
    I was not a social democrat.

    When they came for the trade unionists,
    I did not speak out;
    I was not a trade unionist.

    When they came for the Jews,
    I remained silent;
    I wasn't a Jew.

    When they came for me,
    there was no one left to speak out.

    Can you? Our country has never held relief for disaster victims in my lifetime. The GOP is a disgrace holding the help for a political end.

    Didn't Obama do the same thing when he said ..."seniors and solders might not get paid..."

    That's the kind of bull$hit hypocrisy I'm talking about.

    Do you want me to provide a link (like I did last time....no response from you)?

    I've responded and proven you wrong many times before and will do it now once again. The executive does not write the checks, congress holds the purse strings. Obama was not issuing an or else threat like your disgraceful GOP, he said may not if the purse is cut off. His military bean counter stated what was on hand and how far he could go until not paying. Social security is today paying out more than it takes in. The 40 trillion backing what is owed can't be cashed without congressional authorization. Facts are stubborn things, talking points easily rebutted.

    If you can't back your positions logically with facts only talking points you are not facing reality, only regurgitating talking points. May is not won't. Cantor said only if cuts matching relief dollars, political protecting his rich friends without a chance at the revenue side.

    I'm not arguing for what Cantor said. It seems silly to tie relief to cutting costs. Lord knows there are other, better opportunities to do this. On this we agree.

    Too bad you can't seem to do the same.
