Heck, I'm still waiting to hear if Rush has left for Puerto Rico as he swore he would do if the Supreme Court upheld the Health Care Bill.

I hope Obama is an one term President though.

    Maybe
    k fleming
    I would definitely consider it.
No, I know better than Canada.
Maybe Switzerland, or a backwater South American country.
I do like what Hannibal's on the A-team said when asked the reason why he wasn't in Switzerland. "We're not Swiss."
I'm not thinking of leaving because I can't stand my country anymore.
I can't stand it's leaders and the sheeple that follow them, and with the amount of debt and liabilities, we keep racking up and the culture demanding more and more, I don't want to be here when the bills come due.

And they are independent from the EU, have a higher per-person gun ownership rate, and all young able-bodied males serve in the militia.
    GASP! It's a Right-wing extremist utopia!

It is extremely socialist in their government programs, but people there that are on the dole so to speak have to work for the commons.
In Germany all 18 year olds either spend a year or two in the military or some other government service. It does help those kids grow up.
  • k fleming Jane 2012/07/15 05:23:15

Yeah, and they can afford their gov't programs.
    We can't.
The debate should be as simple as that.

  • Jane k fleming 2012/07/15 13:00:53

I believe you are considering the wrong factors and what we can not afford is WARS.
  • k fleming Jane 2012/07/15 16:02:11 (edited)
    k fleming
I really wish it was that simple.
I'll grant you that wars are expensive, I was against Iraq war from the start and Afghanistan after a few months.
But they will not bankrupt our country by themselves.
The money we currently owe China will not bankrupt the US by itself.
It's the interest and trends of the habits that will bankrupt and utterly destroy this country.

This guy is such a pompous ass he is hard to listen to and he considers humor a proper way to deal with this important subject and he lacks backing on his so called facts. He is just there to convince an audience like any motivational speaker, it is how he makes a living.
I do not find him in the least funny.

More double talk. The fact is, if my neighbor has as good of health care as I do we all benefit.

No one in the US is turned away from care, even Obama admitted it, his bill was a (lame) attempt to fix the problem of "free riders" people coming in without being able to afford the care they were being given and the gov't having to pick up the tab.
Obamacare didn't fix anything, instead of people without healthcare avioding the doctor when the don't need it and running up a tab, those same people (low income) will have healthcare provided for them for "free" by the gov't. We didn't change anything, just made the low income nonpayer feel like a payer.
I don't know why we always compare US healthcare to other countries particularly Europe, even the French PM came here to get care because even France's "top tier" socialized healthcare wasn't good enough for him. Many other Europeans come here because they don't want to have to wait a year for treatment.
Indeed, Europe's cancer survival rate is so much lower than ours! And most of Europe is bankrupt, including the healthcare programs, they just haven't realized it yet. Maybe they aren't the best role models.

and to directly answer your question, is it so important to give better healthcare to others that you own care is diluded and we bankrupt the country? I don't see the double talk in that.
The problem is too much insuranc...

The problem is too much insurance, there is no upper limit to the market, healthcare used to be cheap before everyone got insurance. Now call a doctor and ask for a price for a procedure, they'll pause and tell you which insurance companies they take. They don't even know, payment for what is essentially a skilled service has become too complex!
