    Me myself was forced to retire due to several disabilities but my husband will die while working. Retirement for him is not even a dream.

    I am 72, and I would strongly discourage any one from messing with my retirement pension.
    I'm French, and we guillotined thousands of wealthy parasites during our Great Révolution Française.
    We abolished the death penalty thirty years ago, but we could make an exception for bankers and traders.

    Already retired,but worked for a company(White Motors) that went Bankrupt for 17 yrs.and the Government Pension took over the pension,sent me a letter,and a check for $3400.00,and told me i had to have 20 yrs.in to receive a pension!Thanks for nothing!

    I was well on my way to a 55 retirement before 9-11, but it has been for the most part downhill ever since. And everything I see says a decade or more yet for recovery.

    It looks like forced austerity for all except the government.

    I did before the crap hit the fan. Now I doubt if I will be able to recoup the losses by the time I hit 65. I'm working on it but making money in today's economy is an uphill battle.

    The retirement package is a major perk for my employer. TRS. And if our legislature keeps its filthy paws off it, I should be ok. But of course, I'm planning for the worst case scenario.
