But since we allowed Reagan, both Bushes, and Clinton to trample our rights, the bar has been set kinda high to be able to do anything about it now.

And if you weren't outraged by Reagan, both Bushes and Clinton-- you just weren't paying attention.

Not yet. He hasn't managed to secure enough of his own supporters to back him up. But give the man time and he'll manage to muster up sufficient numbers. He's done it before, as you all know. Hopefully we can keep his skinny little ass busy with make-do work for this next four years and prevent him from doing irreparable damage to our country, as I am afraid he is going to try to do. Is doing, matter of fact.

But, no, too much support for guns in America right now. As I said, give it time....

I fail to see how some logical reasonable restrictions on some guns is unreasonable. And I believe the 2nd amendment says something about a well regulated militia. What part of "well regulated" is so unconstitutional?

Because you are not in a well regulated militia. If you want to carry a gun then join the National Guard of the Army or any one of the other branches of the military. The founding fathers did not want a standing army. Instead, everyone who could fight they wanted to be able to fight. Since we now have a peace time army and the National Guard, there is no need for anyone to have any guns. The home made militia was replaced, whether for good or bad, we have a standing army trained, ready and waiting to fight for our country.

But you are only seeing one part of the amendment too. You are ignoring the beginning of the statement and concentrating on the end. The government isn't trying to take your hand gun away or your hunting rifle. They are trying to regulate the fact that people have assault weapons and high capacity magazines that can only lead to trouble. They want to regulate what can and cannot be owned. Do you really think the founding fathers could have envisioned the kind of weapons a homeowner would be able to buy or the damage they would be able to do when the constitution was being written? No one is safe when there are crazy gun nuts out there with more firepower than the police. How is rational reasonable regulation and background checks a violation of the second amendment?

As far as background checks and such? We've already got em in place. Any time I go to purchase a firearm there is a waiting period so they can do a check on me. Most weapons owners out there have to go thru the very same thing too. And as far as the crazy gun nuts are concerned?? Most of them are in gangs with fully automatic weapons. Your honest, responsible citizens, unless they have big bucks for a special license then they can't buy fully automatic weapons. The bad guys out there are the ones with the firepower that are outgunning the police.

Anyone can buy a fully automatic weapon. They sell the conversion kits at gun shows for a few dollars. Why are gun shows exempt from background checks? Why are private sales of guns exempt? Where to you think a lot of the guns on the streets come from? They were stolen from the homes of gun owners. There are 300,000,000 guns in the US... when will the madness end.

Those are good questions. And I sure don't know why they are exempt. And I'm sure that there are many many weapons that are stolen from private residences too. So far as what you can buy at a gun show though, I don't know what all kind of weapons are there. Except for a couple kit gun black powder pistols that I bought on line I've bought all of my other weapons from licensed guns stores like Cabelas and Gander Mountain.

As far as the madness part of your comment? Well now, this country has got a real morality problem and a lot of why things are happening I believe is in large part of that. We've taken God out of the majority of things so people are living according the laws of the jungle and not the laws of the land. That's what I believe anyway.

Sorry sir, it is you gun nuts and the NRA that are unreasonable. There are more guns in the US than any other country in the world. There is more gun violence in the US than any other country in the world. There is obviously a problem with guns in America buy people like you and the NRA refuse to see that and refuse to sit down and rationally discuss the problem or come up with any type of solution except to say that we need more guns. Guns are not the answer, they are the problem. And until the NRA sits down and discusses reasonable rational regulations and restrictions, guns will continue to be the problem.

I can see you know running around in your backyard playing army with your gun and rolling around on the ground saying "I've been hit, I've been hit" but still managing to save your entire idiot platoon.

Good thing the government doesn't do very good background checks on guns where you live because you would never pass.
