What it will do is send a message to this current administration that they are not going to get away with killing people to further their political agenda. Which is gun control...or more to the point, disarming the American people. They have not heard of an American right that they don't want to take away.

Posturing aside, almost everyone will view it as a political move rather than anything else.

American politicians making outrageous political moves -- a common occurrence.

An embarrassment that Congress would sully itself strictly to gain support for its candidate. It is truly a sad day in America. The Republican Congress must be replaced in November.

Now that SCOTUS has said that everyone will be taxed out of their mind the T E A Party will cause the Senate go Republican and if Obama is reelected then it will be another 4 years before anything is accomplished because Obama will be neutered if he is not already.

Holder has turned over thousands of documents and emails to Issa. Issa wants EVERY document Holder has... including those which have NOTHING TO DO WITH F & F.

Issa insists on examining documents that , by law, he is not allowed to view. Holder has repeatedy told him so. He wants access to Holder's entire department.

Does anyone with a grain of common sense think the Republicans give a flying fig about Brian Terry's death or any death connected with F & F ? If so, they would have been bleating and howling back when Alberto Gonzeles first began Wide Receiver which was a huge mess. NO, they decided... coincidentally... that this would be necessary during election year.

Other than ongoing drama since Obama has been elected, what have the Republicans done? Two fifths of the proposed laws the House has come up with concern naming post offices. Then there are their many ' jobs ' plans... all of which have amendments added concerning health care. One of the first things the new Republican House voted on was to have one week off for every two they work. Vote again, please. Make that four weeks off for every one they ' work '.

There are a couple of pieces of legislation, the transportation bill being one, which are crucial for this country's economy. Congress should spend its time working out its differences and getting this real work done. Once the work is done, I have no problem with congress playing around. But right now they have a job to do; a job for which they are paid and get benefits. Running for office and pursuing their factional, partisan agendas is not what they are paid to do. So as far as I am concerned this Congress is a bunch of freeloaders.

These days just about everything the Right Wing does turns into a national embarrassment.

A few things are now clear: 1. the Attorney General has turned over more than 7000 pages of documents; 2. most of the documents that have not been turned over are either part of an ongoing criminal investigation or are covered by executive privilege, in either case making it illegal for the Attorney General to turn them over; 3. the documents that Issa is having a cow over have nothing to do with the shooting of Agent Terry, which is the ostensible reason for the investigation in the first place; 4. Issa and other Republicans have admitted that there is no evidence of any White House involvement in any of this; 5. it now is known that contrary to the Right Wing narrative ATF agents NEVER intentionally let any weapons cross the border; 6. Fast and Furious was developed by the Bush Administration and largely crafted by Alberto Gonzales; 7. An earlier version of F&F;, called Wide Receiver, was conducted in 2007 and failed; 8. the Bush Administration made significant efforts to cover up the failure of Wide Receiver; 9. to date nine people have been indicted over Wide Receiver; and 10. the working Right Wing theory, that guns were intentionally allowed to cross the border so that President...

Yes, it is a national embarrassment that our national legislators waste time and tax money on such blatant politicking and Kook-A-Doodle-Do-Do conspiracy theories. This contempt case will get nowhere. Even Republicans are backing away from it.

We can not perform an experiment with history to determine if Brian Terry was killed by "Fast and Furious." Without the bungled sting operation started during the Bush years, Agent Terry may have died anyway.

No experiment necessary. It's historical fact that he WAS killed with a F&F weapon. Don't even try to blame this on Bush. Totally different program. This is Obama and Holder's baby.

"It's historical fact that he WAS killed with a F&F weapon."

No, it isn't. Two F&F weapons were found at the scene. The bullet that killed Agent Terry could not be traced to either one.

Considering that what they're "investigating" right now has absolutely nothing to do with Agent Terry's murder, I'm sure his family already knows that it's blatant politicking and a conspiracy theory.

Brian Terry did a job where he knew the risks, no different from so many other military, police, fireman, ect.....
