as they have had wars there for 100s of years and it is as bad now as it has ever been and i'm fairly old, the chances of peace happening are slim to nil, more on the nil side, so that is how i know....or do you's japanese know more than us.....

We know more then you. Anything is possible and the opportunities are endless for the middle east. There is a huge chance that there will be full integrated peace. They need to cut ties with america and focus on reviving the region. But there will be peace in the middle east and the world.

The main problem in the Middle East is religion.
As people become less and less religious all over the world, pressure against religious extremism is building up. Lots of things that are (still) acceptable today, like all kinds of barbaric laws based on religion, won't be acceptable in the (not so distant) future.
Globalization is also going to play a role. We can no longer accept barbaric behavior for the sake of "respecting" a culture or a religion.

NEVER ... as long as the people continue to allow their fanatical religion to rule their lives they will always be at war. Killing others as well as each other, on and on and on.

It would take an act as significant as the Reformation in Europe, then you got hundreds of years of the fall out (hopefully not the nuclear kind) from that.....it will be a very, very long road for the people there to stop raving about Mohammed and begin progressing, but it is possible...Only if a true Reformation can take place to remove the peoples reliance upon Islamic theocracies to rule their lives and ruin their futures.

I cannot envision, but I do hope and pray for, the day where a Mosque, a Hindu Temple, Synagogue and Buddhist Shrine can all be on the same block in Tehran and no one notices. That will be when peace comes to the middle-east. When Islamist recant their belief that murdering others in the name of God is somehow holy and that only Islam is a path back to God…..then peace will come. As long as tens of thousands of people are willing to stand and shout support for the total destruction of another nation or peoples, war will continue to rule.

When Islam has its equivalent of Martin Luther and the other great men of the Christian Reformation, then a path forward to peace can be seen. Until then, Loose The Dogs Of War and Cry Havoc, will be the cry heard in the region.
