With a year-end deadline looming before the economy goes over the so-called fiscal cliff, President Barack Obama is cutting short his traditional Christmas holiday in Hawaii, planning to leave for Washington on Wednesday evening.

Obama was expected to arrive in Washington early Thursday, the White House said late Tuesday. First lady Michelle Obama and the couple's two daughters are scheduled to remain in Hawaii until Jan. 6.

This Fiscal Cliff this is bogus, if there was a fiscal cliff it happend months or maybe a year or 2 ago. The Federal Government and with the aid of the newsmedia have hyped this up on us and try to fear monger . We are told every minute , every hours breaking news of how important this Fiscal Cliff is , well if it is this important then I sure dont want it fiqured out by a snap decision assumptions. All of us know where we will all land with knee jerk, snap made assumptions , right a~~es of us all, and we will be back here by mid '13 listening to Congress cry and say they have got to tax hell out of us all now , because they made big mistakes. I'll gamble here with a YES. It seems to me that the Republicans are caught between a rock and a hard place, so they should get realistic about all this !
If the Republicans give in to President Obama, ( and they should, considering Mr. Obama just got re elected. , TAXES WILL GO UP ! ! )
If the Republicans stand firm and refuse to compromise, then come January 1, 2013, TAXES WILL GO UP AT A MUCH STEEPER RATE !
Like I said, the Republicans had better face reality and fast !

Ok that was a lot of text and mostly what i was able to glean from it is that if your (work) life becomes too structured and too well manipulated it limits your ability to excell and therefore gives you less pleasure in doing your job.Basically he's saying that people like to do what they are good at and thier enjoyment for the task and proficiency share a complimentary relationship. The better someone is at something the more they like it and the more they like it the better they become and so on. But it isn't enough to be good you have to be better than others to allow yourself to think you are good and your desire to be the best is what drives your efforts to new heights. In the modern workplace, because nobody is allowed to fail, nobody is either allowed to succeed, and the structure provided to allow uniform performance impairs the willingness of those who are truly gifted to excell to new heights. This in turn leads to attitudes of calousness toward the job abd what you end up with is a bunch of people that have meaningless tedious menial feeling jobs and uniform mediocre job performance. ........WELL DUH!!!!!

Do you? If you are a liberal then you do. You voted for Obama and his reckless spending ways. Raising taxes on the wealthy will fund our deficit spending for less than a week. Useless. 47% of this country pays no income taxes and Social Security is headed for bankruptcy. Soc Sec taxes need to go back to where they were and perhaps some adjustments made on age eligibility or you will have little to nothing when you retire.. Those that earn less than 75,000 dollars pay an average of 5% in income taxes while those who make more than 500,000 pay an average of 21% so who is paying their "fair" share? Define fair share. What does that mean to you?

I don't think that increased taxes is a good thing but neither is increased spending. As a matter of fact increased spending and a slow economy has hurt this country much more than the tax rates of the wealthy. The only way this will be solved is if enough people really get angry and fire most of our politicians and impeach this president..

Balderdash! You’re entitled to your own opinion, but you’re not entitled to your own facts. Obama and the Democrats tried to negotiate repeatedly, and even gave in and offered the Republicans 98% (by Bœhner’s own words!) of everything they wanted, but that wasn’t good enough for them.

When one side will settle only for them getting 100% of what they want and their opposition getting 0% of what they want, that is not “negotiation.”
