Once we actually treat it as a war it will end quickly. We need to hold the countries that allow this to happen accountable. We need to also quit trying to be politically correct. If we are attacked we should respond 100 fold without concern for who is hurt on the other side. We are dealing with people who have a dark ages mentality. They do not have the intelligence to negotiate. They only understand power. We should have jets ready and when one of our embassies is attack bomb the areas around the embassy. When we are attacked we should respond until the enemy can not. We should chase him into where ever he is hiding and exterminate him.

It should not exist. There will always be terrorists- declaring war on them antagonizes them and gives them what they want (attention by way of bloodshed). They attack, they kill and we attack them in revenge. Yes, capture and detain them, but the media fuels their fires- they love hearing the scare tactics on Fox News. They laugh at our fear and conspiracy theories while they rake in the oil money.

I hope so but not in my lifetime, I fear. The terror that underlies the war has been around for a long time, though. The Armenian Genocide in 1915 is an example of how the Islamists who underlie this have a long history and, unlike modern Christians, still believe in Holy War.

There are different types of "crusade," though. I'm not defending Bush in particular but a Christian crusade is fundamentally religious while a crusade of good over evil is not. He did say the war on terror was a crusade of good (freedom, democracy) over evil (terrorism). Though some memos with bible quotes above pictures I think that is a misinterpretation by people who don't understand why someone would pray for success of an endeavor.

I highly doubt it as long as we always have to be the ones to 'police' the world. I think we should pull out completely in these Middle East countries..leave them to their own devices and just really, really strengthen and protect things here at home instead.

Yes it will. First of all people have to realize attacking each other proves absolutely nothing. Killing someone does not solve any problems. If you really want to prove something, it would be to restrain from having the urge to retaliate and seek your Justice.

WWII was about americans staying neutral until a war erupted that killed more people than the little skirmishes we have today. I would rather we fight the little battles rather than allow a power or tradgedy on the world stage to erupt that causes a world war!

I suspect that a lot more people have died in and because of our interference in the middle east over the last 30 years than most people realise.
