Will the SCOTUS Obamacare mandate ruling significantly increase Romney's chances for winning the presidency, as well as the chances for Republican control of both legislative Houses after the November 2012 elections?

The hilarious thing about this ruling is the Democrats see this as a victory.
John Roberts handed it back to the PEOPLE to make a decision instead of the SCOTUS.
If you don't want the largest tax increase in the HISTORY of the WORLD....vote these sponges out of office in November.

It is very obvious. People are very upset and the ones who are upset will be the people who vote.

Roberts has given Romney a pretty good boost. If you read his other comments, it's almost like he's telling the electorate to vote Obama out of office. I prefer the way he declared the Commerce Clause unconstitutional, which many people seem to have overlooked.

Obama has said for 3 years that he wouldn't raise taxes on the middle class. Well, folks, that's exactly what Obamacare is going to do. All Romney has to do now is play the 50 or so sound bites of him saying he wasn't going to levy taxes on the middle class and then show them exactly what Obamacare is going to do.

It will also be interesting to see how they implement this tax. I'd pay a dollar to see about a million taxpayers refuse to pay the tax. What jail are they going to put them in? LOLOLOLOL ... now THAT would be civil disobedience worth seeing. Only problem with that, there are no provisions for not paying those taxes. It's a law with no teeth at this point. If that happened, I think Obama and his bff would both pee in their pants.

The SC put the burden of fixing Affordable Health back on Congress where it belongs. Since Congress will be campaigning very soon, it's not going to do anything very useful between now and November. And people will see more and more that Congress is just a bunch of empty suits. It had from 2010-2012 to make good on all the big words -- and it utterly failed.

Come on, Howler. November 2010 -- Republicans hand Obama a crushing mid-term defeat. What have they done to make good on THEIR promises?

And today's decision gives Obama LOTS of running room. This was a massive political victory. In fact, this could secure the White House for him.

Obamacare now stands as a highly regressive tax on middle- and lower-income families, a tax on jobs, a tax on youth, a tax on health, a tax on freedom of choice. In his decision, Justice Roberts wrote, “It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.” This includes Mr. Obama and the congressional Democrats who voted for the Obamacare tax increase.

"Come on, Howler"?...Come on about what?

Republicans only handed Obama a defeat in the House..Not in the Senate.

And that puts a big damper on what can be done by Republicans ONLY.

To put blame for gridlock on Republicans when all the Democrat Senate has to do is vote WITH Republicans just isn't going to fly.

But, I don't expect your agreement on that, nor do I prefer any long debate.

It is what it is, and the Democrats have become the party of "no"...

A political victory for Obama when it has now been shown that either he was ignorant of the penalty vs. tax issue relative to the mandate, OR it was a BLATANT deception by this so-called Constitutional scholar?...Pleeease.

It may have been a victory for the bill itself, a victory for increased power of the federal government, and victory to move the left-wing Progressive agenda incrementally forward, but it was not a pure, election-year, political victory IMO.

No, not "pure, election-year..." But the fact that it IS an election year means there's a huge, immediate political pay-off to. If this had happened in 2011, the impact would have been dulled a year later. That's all. Just like killing OBL in May, 2011 isn't hot news now.

I don't see the Obama campaign political payoff coming...All I see is the political focus from the Romney camp being sharply adjusted to Obamacare, its penalty tax, and its almost two dozen other taxes the law will impose -- and NOT necessarily on the "1%".

The Obama camp cannot say anything about Obamacare that it has not already said - the pre-existing illness provision, the leaving the child on the parents' policy provision, etc.

Since the SCOTUS ruling is now in the past, there is going to be much more to talk about within the monstrosity of the law by the Romney camp.

If there was a LOT more the Obama camp or left-wing Progressives really thought the people wanted to hear about the law that ACTUALLY BENEFITTED the people instead of infringe on their liberty, they would have been talking about it all along, yet they have not mentioned it.

And I believe they only refer to less than a half-dozen provision in a 2,000 plus page law simply because they do not want the people to know what they are in for.

If I am wrong, the Obama camp will be touting MANY and MULTIPLE SPECIFICS within this law so as to MAKE it a HUGE political victory -- culminating in the re-election of Obama...But, I won't hold my breath.

Now, don't think that I am taking the time to type this because i would think you - a "moderate" -- might agree or even put any stock in what I assert...I don't.

The time for talk of over!!! Get off your sofas and start the revolution ... peacefully!!!

    Here is how ...

It's time for We The People to take matters into our own hands starting with a nationwide tax revolt, stop paying all bank loans and implement a national plea for our military to come home and rescue their country and put up a fence around DC and call it the National Penitentiary. Then put all of them (politicians and judges) and their bankers on trial and punish them for treason. And a note to the media ... we have special plans for you!
