I think it will remain much the same... A Republican House and a Democratic Senate (and more gridlock).

With what they have done in the past year they will be extremely lucky to hold on to the House.

Because they tried to save us from Obamacare? And the Democrats chose to shut down the government rather than give WE THE PEOPLE a fair shake with their buddies in Big Business?

Oh, please. Do you really think that the members of the Tea Party are working to save the people from the excesses of big business? How can they do so while working so hard to remove any and all restrictions on them to protect normal Americans?

Why would they do so when they are funded by billionaires and corporations - the big business entities you think are not giving the American people a free shake?

I admit that the REPUBLICANS aren't as adept as the DEMOCRATS in hiding their big business contributors. But they BOTH ARE POLITICIANS and both HUMAN. Neither is exempt from GREED.

Oh, and by-the-way I don't see much difference in the Democratic party that was Pro-South in the Civil War and the Democratic party that wants to enslave the population to HUGE DEBT NOW.

How is it that you figure the whole debt is from the Democratic Party? Reagan tripled the debt. Bush 43 doubled it. The increase in spending under the Obama administration is actually less than any other administration since Hoover.
  • Ol'Dave Thom Payne 2013/11/25 17:56:07

I didn't say the whole debt is from the Democratic party. Politicians from all parties (even the Whig party & Bull Moose party & politicians before parties were organized) contributed to the debt. I disagree with your assertion the Obama increase is less than any other since Hoover. Obama national debt Their own numbers a bad for the country.

Your chart shows 'projected debt' starting in 2009. Unfortunately, the first trillion dollar deficit was in 2008. Your chart is as faulty as your logic.

It's about campaign cash. Shutting down the government really p*ssed off corporate America. Now Republican business groups and other traditional GOP groups are spending dramatically less on 2014 Senate races. According to the AP and others, it is not even clear the GOP can hold by House by a significant margin. And the Republicans who do win likely will include fewer Tea Party members, because Republican fundraisers are supporting their primary opponents. The party refuses to change on issues like abortion, same-sex marriage, and others and a growing majority rejects their views especially the millennials. Their position is so pathetic they try to lower the voter turnouts whenever possible. Do they think people don't notice when voting times are changed to when people are at work?

The GOP does not have a single idea in their collective heads. They are AGAINST Obama - but what exactly are they FOR? - besides punishing poor people and giving tax rebates to billionaires? They can and will scream about Obamacare nonstop, but because it only affects 1.3% of the population, why would the other voters care? They don't.

Republicans need to be able to say, " Look... LOOK! This is what we got passed and this is how it helps you." Even those who don't like Obamacare still see the need to change our dismal health care policies. What have Republicans offered other than Paul Ryan's pathetic little Coupon Care idea ?

Almost certainly. Obamacare is going to play a key role in the next election and I don't think any of us can really ignore that the promised date of 11/30 is coming up and the site is still as broken as ever. The liberal left really shot themselves in the foot with that one. I mean...the voters could dismiss everything else....but with Obamacare it effects them directly...they can't ignore it. That's why Obama has a 40% approval rating right now.

Based on a biased source. Claiming the GOP is lower is just a weak liberal diversion from the real topic lol. Wouldn't give it much attention.

The California Exchanges were one of the 16 that were actually working. They have been down for 2 days now.

Don't forget the incident on the Oregon exchange, where a gal was sent someone else's identifying info.

anyone that actually registers or signs up thru the exchanges ought to have their head examined! I just use it to see all the options, packages, and prices...entering different family ages and compositions..checking out the prices.

if i ever had to get it...i would do it manually or from cyber-cafe. (and get a separate pay as you go SIM card for a phone number)

I by-passed it completely. The requirements that all government offered plans have to cover include what POLITICIANS chose to call 'reproductive counseling' (aka reproductive choice, Planned parenthood, abortion, etc.). Whatever they call it results in DEAD BABIES. I chose to exercise the exemption written into the law for faith-based plans to avoid funding that. I would rather trust God to handle things for me than trust POLITICIANS.
