As Mitt Romney's phenomenal meltdown continues, some have questioned whether there is any possibility that the Republican Convention will choose to abandon Romney and cast their votes for another candidates in hopes of salvaging the November elections. Under RNC rules, no delegate is legally bound to vote for the candidate they are pledged to. It is of course expected that they will cast their vote as they are supposed to, but they are not required to.

In 2008, one Utah delegate to the National Convention who was pledged to John McCain demanded the right to cast a vote for Mitt Romney. The legal counsel for the RNC said:

"The RNC does not recognize a state's binding of national delegates, but considers each delegate a free agent who can vote for whoever they choose." They also said "The National Convention allows delegates to vote for the individual of their choice, regardless of whether the person's name is officially placed into nomination or not."

Based on that statement, a delegate could theoretically vote for President Obama if they wanted to, or for anyone else they choose.

So what do you think? Will the RNC dump a man whose unfavorability ratings rise daily, whose desperate attempts to keep his financial history a deep dark secret hurt him every time he says no, who is starting to run out of allies he hasn't insulted, and whose horse unfortunately failed to win a gold medal to justify the $77,000 tax writeoff Mitt got for him?

Why should they dump Romney? And why, especially, should they support your kind of candidate instead?

I have been saying the same thing for months. If DemocRATs were smart, they would have quietly gone to Obama and told him to announce he would not seek reelection like LBJ did in March 1968. Then they would have pushed Hillary into running for the good of the party. Obama said that if unemployment were still 8 percent after 3 years, he should be a "one term" president.

~Romney is ALREADY the GOP nominee~~ They are NOT going to change now~~ I wish that Gingrich was the choice~ I figure if Clinton could have oral sex with a gal young enough to be his daughter while cheating on his wife ~ & being forgiven for it then Gingrich cheating on his wife and marrying the women he cheated wih is forgivable also~ Gingrich would have cremated 0vommit in the debates without his TelePrompTer~

Romney is the presumptive nominee. No one is an official candidate until the delegates cast their votes.

And the Right Wing Media has never and will never forgive Bill Clinton for his private conduct with a consenting adult, though of course they forgave Newt the first chance they got.
