WILL OBAMA’S TAX PLANS FOR 2013 SOAK UP SAVINGS OF THE ELDERLY THE HARDEST!

OBAMA’s MESSAGE TO OUR MOM & DAD.... JUT DIE AND PAY ME FOR THE TIME YOU’VE LIVED….. AGAIN!

We’ve ALL
seen the President stand before the American citizen and pursue his attacks on
the Millionaires and Billionaires, claiming that they should PAY more in
taxes! However, each time he gets into
his speech, buried DEEP in the electronic print out of his “teleprompter” is an
amount far lower in income of the ”real people” he wishes to TAX. That is our ELDERLY who depend on the returns
of their long standing investments to assist in the “golden years” of
retirement are the REAL ones he is REALLY going after!

How many of
us have seen our parents struggle through life to secure a better future for
themselves and their children. How many of us have had Mom & Dad dip into
their retirement or take a loan against their own property to bail us children
out in the desperate need of a medical operation or catastrophe that has
occurred in our lives! NOW, does Obama
want them to bail out his catastrophic failures of being our President? For
while he has sat in the highest office of the land, his GSA employees lavish in
$5,000 per night rooms with whirlpool hot tubs in Las Vegas, sipping champagne from
two glasses… all paid for by his approval !

What are the
TAXES the President wants from the Elderly more than any other group of Americans?

1) Top tax bracket for SENIORS will rise
from 30 to 34%! That “Top Bracket” is
NOT, I say again…. NOT…. $1 million!

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-11-30/bush-tax-cut-puzzle-...

2) Dividends! 71% of seniors supplement their retirement
incomes through dividends from stocks and bonds they have invested over their
years! The President wants to raise the TAX on dividends from the current 15%
to a whopping 43%.... close to a 300% increase!
This will affect EVERYONE, not just the seniors!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NbBXt9yoT8&feature;=channel

3) TAX of sale of property! As of January 1, conveniently AFTER the
election, every homeowner selling their home will HAVE to pay a 3.8% Sales tax
to the Federal Govt! That tax is NOT on
the profit, rather the selling price of the home! If Mom & Dad bailed us children out of a
crisis situation in our lives and refinanced their $250,000 “paid” mortgage
with a $200,000 loan… they would STILL need to pay the Federal govt close to
$10,000, regardless of any capital gain or loss!!! http://activerain.com/blogsview/2099491/sales-tax-on-property...

4) Capital Gains Tax rising from 15% to
23%! This is on TOP of any sales tax
charge…. Again, biting in to the Elderly who only THOUGHT Obama cared about
their “welfare!” But then…. Gives a “whole new meaning” to “obamacare!” http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-05-30/capital-gains-fault-...

5) INHERITENCE taxes! Current amounts of inheritance can be passed
down to the rightful heirs of parents estates by being worth LESS than $5
Million! Not ONLY will that be reduced to the low amount of $1 Million, but the
President will now declare that the Federal Govt is more of a “rightful” owner
of any parents property then their OWN children! For the tax is going from 33% to a mind
blowing 55% of the total value of mom and dad’s wealth! http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123846422014872229.html

So…. WHAT
say you Soda Head member! Do you wish to
see these HUGE taxes imposed on your mom and dad? Do you wish to continue to
“Swallow a Lie” that the President is ONLY wanting to “tax the millionaires and
billionaires?” Old Salt

O-bum-a needs more taxes so the feds can continue their wasteful ways with our money. The greatest population of millionaires has to be in DC--the capital of the rich and greedy.

I'll be civil. This post lacks any specific facts or references and as such qualifies as a mindless rant appealing to only fear. Specifically (and I know the root word 'specific' makes right wing fear mongers uncomfortable - sorry!) what Obama policy proposals would punish the elderly of modest income or wealth? Please provide the specific proposal and the income/wealth limits proposed and why, in your view, those levels should be not considered as having the ability to pay. My personal view is that ALL Americans need to be paying higher taxes assuming we want to continue the wars and services we seem to, as a majority, endorse.

There's many I don't either but we live in a representative democracy so that's how it works - unless you can make the case that it's violating the constitution which then can be changed through the same process of democracy.

We live in a republic. It is a violation of the constitution. USGovt wipes its fat ass with the constitution.

the Republic acknowledgment was the second sentence as to wiping the ass with the constitution - we've got a right leaning constructionist court currently and per the constitution they are the ones to decide - not you (or me) on what is constitutional and what is not. My personal opinion is there should be a 'new' constitutional convention every 'so often' as the World has changed incredibly since 1791 and the amendment process as designed is just a little too unwieldy to keep up with the times. But that too would require a constitutional change!

How about you go ask your parents..... "Mom, Dad, when you were young, do you remember govt being as BIG as it is under obama?" "Do you remember any President telling the Catholic Church to go against their own beliefs?" "Do you remember what it was like when you trusted your neighbor, rather than fear them?" "Do you remember when you prayed in schools, held hands looking at nativity scenes at Christmas, being proud to bring me into a Country so proud to be AMERICAN?" "Do you remember a country that respected your parents and not tried to tell them how to live?"

Let me know what they say please! How would that be for...... "SPECIFICS?" :) Old Salt

I'm 55 and I do remember when public schools sanctioned a religion clearly in violation of the constitution and many of the other issues were in place. As a life long atheist I found it annoying and childish but other than a waste of time, not too much of an imposition. As to the Catholic Church needing to provide an established level of health care (that violates their belief) this only applies to their activities in the secular world where they have chosen to participate. The 'funniest' part about all this is 90% of Catholic secular organizations (Schools, Charities, Hospitals, etc...) ALREADY provide reproductive health care in the insurance they provide. Why was this such an issue now? As to being proud to be an American....wasn't a lot of pride in the Viet Nam war nor the Civil Rights struggles eras or am I mis-construing that part of history?

The problem is we have too many non-productive senior citizens that are becoming a drain on the government. We need to thin them out, just like a herd of cattle. Obamacare will do that, if the supreme court doesn't throw it out, by limiting health care for seniors on Medicare by taking money from Medicare to pay for health care for so-called poor people. If that fair, NO! As, seniors, we all have to make sure Obama doesn't get re-elected.

Perhaps the problem is too many retired public employees, most having retired in the 50's because they only have to work 28-30 years, who are a serious drain on our tax dollars and are non-productive. More than likely it's not the true private sector seniors who have paid into social security their entire working lives and now live on a pittance, if they are lucky for 10 years, but public service employees who pay little into their retirement fund and collect for another 25-30 years. Think it's a coincidence that almost every public sevtor pension fund, from state governments to the federal level, are broke? And, by law, just who do you think is obligated to bail them out? Surprise, surprise, it's the private sector taxpayer who has to make up the difference for their shortage. How's that for a scam?
  • morris44 Knot_Rich 2012/06/14 20:07:35

Most public employees pay into their retirement.

Do you have statistics to back up your statement that public employees are the largest drain?

    common sense over statistics? really?

would you prefer your doctor to use common sense over medical research (which is statistical)?

Illinois is one of 14 states in which teachers do not participate in Social Security.

Should we take away their pensions too?
  • Old Salt morris44 2012/06/14 21:33:35

I do believe that the State of Wisconsin ONLY requested their employees increase their contribution level from a merely 6% of their health cost to a little over 12%. Also, they were asked to contribute just 5.8% of their retirement benefits! I'm not familier with but a VERY, VERY few private employers who contribute more than 50% of retirement and more than 50% of dependent health cost! Nor am I aware of employers paying the employee 50% higher income than the average of the community income!

Please read the proposed budget carefully as this is not what it says.
If you receive $200,000 or less, your tax would not change from the low rate that it is now.
As for selling your home, a 3.8% tax is fair because the house is going to be sold for 2-3 times what it was bought for in the first place, so the gains are not really earned. If you sold it yourself, you could save the 10% sales commission and still be ahead.
    Typical conservative scare tactics.
There is a lot in the article that has been left out that explaines what would happen in different income brackets.
To get all the facts do some more research on sites that are neutral and not pro inane right wing economic BS.

Many of our parents saw that their homes have been a strong asset in their retirement plans! They cherished them, raised us children in them, labored in tough times to make sure the monthly mortgage payment was made! Now, in many places across our country, our parents are being forced out simply because they cannot afford the taxes which are four and five times the amount their mortgage payment was! Furthermore, thanks to Frank/Dodd, the collapse of the housing market has caused the value of their homes to be reduced by as much as 50%!

So you wish to REWARD Washington by giving them money from the labor of our PARENTS? What did your parents ever do to you that you wish to hurt them so badly? Perhaps $10,000 is not much to you, but to them... it's part of their retirement!

Besides, I'm sure they would be rather upset to see thier money going to pay for a Washington Flunky like this.................... sorry you would not mind though! :(

This is about as nonsensical as usual for you. And trying to hide the naked greed of the Right Wing behind the very same senior citizens that you folks want to kill off rather than provide with access to the health care they need is pretty despicable. Restoring taxes on capital gains to a sane and fair level will not have a negative impact on retirees; what bothers you is that the CEO of Exxon will actually have to pay as much in taxes as his secretary does. And taxing mega estates when the next Sam Walton dies only has an impact on about 1/10 of 1% of the people in this country, all of whom can afford to help support the government that enabled them to get rich in the first place.

It's bad enough that every word out of the Right Wing lately is a complete lie, but to try to use the very people you're trying to condemn to poverty and death as an excuse to allow the richest Americans to continue to pillage our nation is about as low as you can get.
