After the last Clinton budget for Fiscal Year 2001, we never saw federal budget surpluses again. There were nothing but straight budget deficits.

So-called "tax and spend" Democrats and liberals try to achieve balanced budgets. "Borrow and spend" Republicans and conservatives achieve huge deficits and then leave the mess for Democrats to figure out.

Republican presidents are hopeless in this area because they rely on a trickle-down theory that advocates lowering taxes on the wealthiest. Supposedly this would benefit the lower economic groups of the society. It has never worked. The results have been large deficits and bad economies.

Wrong! Clinton had a Republican Congress which reined in his spending and if you listen to Newt Gingrich he also takes credit for the so called surplus. THERE WAS NO SURPLUS!!!!! PERIOD!!! NO SURPLUS!!!

Trickle down economics works great! Tax cuts work great! Tax cuts will even bring more income into the government because of the " Laffer Curve" as it did when Bush cut taxes. When you cut taxes you create jobs and people who were collecting money from the government now become tax payers which increase government funding. Huge dollars came into the federal government but Bush spent like a drunken sailor. This budget mess could be cleaned up if taxes were cut and Spending were cut also. Also eliminate unnecessary, unconstitutional and wasteful agencies like the Department of education, The department of Energy, The Federal EPA and on and on. THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE, IT'S COMMON SENSE!
