If Gas prices hit $5.00 he is gone and the price is there now.Ask most people on the street,if they are lefties they say no problem.If they are righties they say Goodbye.If a bird had a left wink and a right wing that did not match each other it could not fly.That is why the Government can/t fly.It does not take a genius to see it.The gas problem is the tip of l;the iceberg.

Not for me. in 2004 my wife and I decided to reduce our dependence on oil. We bought Priuses which cut our gasoline usage by more than 50%, then we got a solar water heater and finally solar panels for electricity. So we are in relatively good shape to withstand oil increases which were bound to happen once the economy starts recovering.

Based on history, so far the President has been ineffective at controlling gas prices. Speculators are in charge of the gas prices.
Having said that, I would like to believe in Gingrich's plan for $2.50.
Do you believe he can, or is it just a stunt to get more supporters on his side?

ok first off the president has no control over gas prices. the speculators determine the price of oil which then effects the price of gas. anyone who thinks a president can control gas prices is clueless

We can't afford it, that's why. Going out costs too much money...even just down to the grocery store. It's a problem and Obama has only made the problem so much worse.

I don't care if gas prices go below a dollar or soar above $5.00. President Obama's policies will not gain my support. Consequently, the only thing that will change my vote is if the candidate opposite of Obama in the election was even more extreme in his policies.

Simple, Bush didn't have an energy Secretary say under oath, the price needs to be higher. Second Bush made the moves to have the price drop as Obama did in a speech recently left out short term but pushed only medium and long term.

libby gas prices went up with bush in office. so two different people, 2 different policies but same reaction.

True. Look at the prices when Obama took office. I believe here in Washington we were paying $1.84 per gallon.

Granted at one time during the Bush Admin prices approached $5, but that was due to the unrest in the Middle East. Once that settled down, the price as well went down.

So long as we allow Iran to threaten closing the Straits of Hormuz, and remain hostage to OPEC and the World Spuculators controlling both Supply and pricing, we will stay screwed.

Just dumping 700,000 barrels of crude from domestic production by the XL pipeline scares the poo out of both OPEC and the speculators. Obama with the stroke of a pen could cause them to crap their pants.

I'd didn't then nor will I EVER vote for Obama. I'm not convinced there will even be an election in November.

Obama acts like a man totally unconcerned about an election coming up.

If it (the election) transpires, Obama faces an epic historical defeat at the polls no matter how much fraud and monkey shines his supporters pull.
