Why you oppose (or support) gay/lesbian marriage?

I don't really care in that situation, since it has nothing to do with me. If they want to, sure let them get married.

Gay people who are getting married aren't sisters though... There is no comparison to incest.

It is interesting to note that bedrooms did not even make the top ten!

You do realize that this survey was taken in the 70s, so it does not apply now. Besides that, back in the 70s, promiscuity was kind of a big thing for most people, not just homosexuals.

What does this have to do with marriage? I bet there are similar stats about straights.

Just like women and blacks getting the right to vote, just like people with disabilities having equal rights, just like women getting equal pay, gays and lesbians should have the same rights. Unless of course you are a bible toting conservative hypocrite who can't think for themselves!!!

And can I add that the actual definition of monogamous literally means one lover for life. Not divorce then and remarry. In the bible, Jesus himself called remarriage after divorce ADULTERY! Its in there in red. He said nothing about gays, but he did call half of you (50% of American marriages end in divorce) ADULTERERS. This has been my bible lesson for the day. God bless!

Oh, and I'd rather have civil unions to keep the separation of church and state intact. Let the religious people have their word marriage. I know that a rose by any other name is still a rose. :-)

That's exactly my position, I'd rather just give out civil unions preferably to everyone.

Yeah, but that will piss the Christians off as well. Marriage can be between opposite sexes and civil unions can be for homosexuals. I'd rather make concessions if it will appease them. Then since it is separate, it will make it easier to collect sociological data for comparisons, won't mess with sep of church and state and takes away most of their legal legs to stand on. It will be easier and more expedient to let straits have marriage and gays civil union.

I believe all consenting adults of mental capability ought to be able to have the right to marry if they do so please.
