BECAUSE HE IS TRYING TO HIDE THE FACT HE IS IN BUSINESS WITH CRIMINALS, THAT THERE ARE YEARS HE PAID NO TAXES EVEN THOUGH HE MADE MILLIONS SENDING AMERICAN JOBS TO COMMUNIST CHINA....KILLING SOME EMPLOYEES WHO LOST THEIR HEALTH INSURANCE.

Blood Money Started Bain Capital

Romney supporters are stating these are personal and non important. I beg to differ. I think
that a Presidential Candidate, suggesting cutting taxes once again on
the wealthiest Americans and whose company, Bain Capital was started
with monies gained from not only foreign but unscrupulous sources is
very relevant. Mr. Romney's reveal any conflict of interest or ties to
foreign companies that may not have the best interest of this wonderful
country we all love. The President released his. But what do many use
to drive this point home? They use conspiracy nonsense such as the
non-existent birther controversy and other attempts at guilt by
association. All which have been debunked and truly have no bearing on
his ability to continue to be President. Those claims were created by
Conservative Operatives blowing a racist dog whistle to appeal to those
who might prejudge the President because of his color, name and family
history.

I find it amazing that the same people who wanted to see everything from Obama's "long form" birth certificate to his grade school teacher notes, and who he might have attend a board meeting with to the Christian Church that he as "alleged Muslim attended". CAN YOU BE ANY MORE HYPOCRITICAL. Romney moved jobs, good American Jobs to China, for nothing more than more profit, these companies were making money but if you can use EXPLOITED COMMUNIST SLAVE LABOR AND NOT PAY A LIVING WAGE OR HEALTH INSURANCE(who cares if some of the employees die because they lost their benefits.

WHO CAN FORGET THE NEW YORK TIMES FULL PAGE WHERE ROMNEY WANTED TO SEE GM AND CHRYSLER GO BANKRUPT....Did he see an opportunity to buy these companies cheap and move them to China and use more communist labor?

Yes Bain made money but at what cost, THEY EXPORTED AMERICAN JOBS FROM PROFITABLE COMPANIES CUTTING LABOR AND PRODUCTION COSTS SIGNIFICANTLY BUT DID THE PRICE OF THE PRODUCTS GO DOWN....HELL NO...THE ONLY THINGS THAT WENT DOWN IS QUALITY AND THE NUMBER OF AMERICANS MAKING A LIVING WAGE. Romney moves jobs to a communist country and Obama is the socialist? Pathetic.

Perhaps it's because he already said he would release his 2011 return when it is complete.

Perhaps it's because he already released his financial disclosure statements which is the only requirement.

Perhaps it's because he's following the Kennedy trend, which none of the three ever released a single tax return during their careers.

Perhaps it's because the convention hasn't even taken place and he hasn't received the nomination yet.

Perhaps it's because he has been properly vetted and proven to be eligible to run for, and hold the office of POTUS.

Great post! Romney practically thumbs his nose at the American voters who want to see his tax returns. He is so hypocritical he asks Ryan to show several years of his tax returns, but refuses to show his own and expects people to vote for him for presiident. The smell of that makes you want to hold your nose.

How many years do you want? I say he should be forced to produce the tax returns of his ancestors as well as every tax return he has ever filed as soon as President Obama releases his records from high school, college and law school. President Obama will also have to admit that he heard at least one of Rev. Jeremiah Wright's sermons in the 20 years he went to church.

The answer is very simple: There is absolutely nothing illegal in the tax returns (if there was, the IRS would have been all over them by now). Releasing the returns would simply provide more detail for the opposition to nitpick to create more issues (via class envy) and thus postpone talking about the real election issues which Romney has the clear advantage over Obama with the people who will actually go out and vote in November.

Isn't this why Romney's father said people should release more than one or two years of returns, so they could show their integrity or lack there of? If people nitpick it's because there is something to nitpick over and if not Romney shuts everyone up and wins big time. If he has nothing to hide then he has everything to win and nothing to lose. It sounds to me like republicans think he is hiding something so they are making excuses for him. That's how I see it.

You didn't understand my comment. The nitpicking would not be over anything that was illegal, but just over how much the rich guy makes and the legal itemized deductions he declares, so they will use that to create class envy. And no, the Republicans know that he isn't hiding anything, but many of them therefore are telling him to release the returns and get it over with (but those Republicans are just incorrectly assuming that the nitpicking will end there, but it won't). So your scenario of "shuts everyone up" will never happen because that is just not how liberals operate in today's political world.

No, I understood. If all people can do is nitpick then that makes the nitpickers look petty. We already know how much Mitt makes and his worth what we don't know is what he's afraid off. Nitpicking isn't it. Nitpicking is the excuse made up by them for not putting the returns out.
As for class envy. We all know there is class envy. Keeping up with the Joneses isn't a popular phrase for nothing. There has been and always will be class envy. Once again that's just another excuse not to put them out there.
If Romney put his returns out there it will end the "speculation" he is hiding something if he's not and that will be the end of it, period. Nitpicking will then hurt the dems if they do it. No more excuses my friend. If he's not afraid of something in there then put them out and end all this once and for all but if he doesn't most on the left, some on the right but most importantly those in the middle the independents will think he's dirty.
  • goblue1968 Giantfan 2012/08/13 23:40:03

No more excuses my friend, you say? I'm not making excuses (that's not my job, that's his). I don't need to make excuses for him because I'm not a Republican in the first place, so I'm not voting for Romney. I'm just offering a logical opinion to explain that there is a good reason not to release them to public viewing. Nobody will ever criticize the Dems for nitpicking because that's all they ever do when they don't have legitimate arguments about issues which stand up to logical and rational scrutiny. They know that (and because the majority of the media is on the Dems side, they don't worry about criticism).
  • Giantfan goblue1968 2012/08/14 03:45:43

Then I guess there is a good reason for Ryan too. He said he'd only release what Romney did, 2 years worth. He's got Romney's back and that tells me Romney is hiding something and this proves it. If nothing else when a republican does something wrong the rest of them circle the wagons and defend them no matter how bad the act that was committed was like Vitter and the two prostitutes or Larry Craig and his men's room follies or Mark Sanford and his hot tamale. The wagons were circled.

I agree with you--put 'em out there and let the nitpickers have at 'em!!

But if you cite examples of Republicans circling the wagons for wrongdoers, what happens in most cases is Republicans distance themselves from the scandal (especially if particularly well-known Republicans are up for election soon).

The circling the wagons scenario is much more prominent in Democrat party scandal coverups, where not only are the offenders supported by droves of Democrat excuse-makers (and the national media machine spearheaded by the likes of Chris Mathews, Rachel Maddow and Ed Schultz), but the offenders usually end up with better jobs than they had before the scandal (let us never forget the greatest one of them all, when Ted Kennedy got away with murder and his constituents still kept voting him back into office term after term after term).

I don't think Ed, Chris or Rachael had anything to do with defending Ted Kennedy when Mary Jo died considering Chris was 24, Ed was 15 and Rachael wasn't even born yet. Dems usually throw other dems under the bus but sometimes they too circle the wagons. But republicans being that apoligizing is a sign of weakness to them usually won't so they make excuses and defend each other. Wagons ho!
  • goblue1968 Giantfan 2012/08/15 17:58:15

I didn't say Ed, Chris or Rachael defended Ted when he drowned Mary Jo. I mean that they are the most prominent Democrats who defend fellow Democrat wrongdoers in the contemporary timeframe. They also don't call out Obama for all the blunders he makes (and I wouldn't expect them to), which are worse than the ones they gleefully called George W out on. The old media double standard of reporting instead of objective journalism which they claim to practice.

My wife's sister has a sister-in-law whose son was sent to prison for the same type of crime that Ted committed (he was drunk while driving a car that crashed and one of his passengers died in the crash). He didn't have the money and political influence like Ted to keep him out of prison.

They are pundits they make a living on tv. The more they move in one direction the more popular they are with their base like Hannity is and Limbaugh is and Coulter is and Malkin is and Billo is and Stewart is. You know the game.
Now you know why many of us on the left are so opposed to wealth and power buying their way out of trouble. You on the right think wealth is a show of success or hard work. Not always. Some people just have it handed to them like Kennedy and Romney. And many get away with crimes like Kennedy or what Romney is hiding in his tax returns. And before you say he isn't guilty of anything then let him prove it. Put out his returns for the last 6 years at least.

I told you in my last reply that I wouldn't expect the liberal pundits to call out Obama on his numerous blunders. I also told you two replies ago that I agree with you about the returns ("put 'em out there and let the nitpickers have at 'em!!").

Since the last time I was here, Joe Biden did it again. If you're honest, you know damn well that if a Republican had thrown that turd in the pool, the liberal pundits would be talking about it for a week--I haven't heard squat from them about it unless they get cornered into talking about it by somebody else.

Joe Biden did nothing. Republicans had to accuse him of doing something he didn't to take the heat off of them. Ryan was getting pounded over his medicare policy and Romney was getting pounded over his tax returns and Bain so as usual they pretended Biden meant something he didn't. And you fall for it, hell my friend fell for it. She probable saw it on Fox. I saw it and had he meant what the repubs said he did I'd be the one yelling the loudest about it but he didn't. A lie is the truth if you believe it to be. Besides I don't need the liberal pundits to pick on Obama. if you knew me you'd know I complain about most all politicians when I think they did something wrong and I've sworn at Obama almost as much as I've sworn at Bush. Just ask my wife about how much I complain about these under worked and over paid dimwats.

All I stated was "Joe Biden did it again" and you got your knickers all wedgied up over it. I don't watch Fox, so that wasn't the source of my allegation. And I did read elsewhere on the internet later on that there were plenty of black folks outraged over his comment, including people who are diehard Democrats like Al Sharpton. So if, as you say, "Joe Biden did nothing", you have a lot more people than me to convince otherwise! I will suggest however that he could have made the same point with a better analogy and choice of words other that "chains" and "shackles".

I saw Al Sharptons show waiting for my baseball game to come on and he wasn't upset He talked about it and said just what I did. Republicans were making fake outrage on the comment and after hearing the comment I had to agree with what Al had said and Al and I don't always agree on things but this time we did.. I wonder who puts these lies out there. I didn't see any black democrats being upset. I heard nothing. I got my so called knickers all wedgied as you call it because I am so tired of political parties lying to make matters worse. Check out the ads on tv today. To find an honest one you would need a search warrant and a bunch of homicide detectives. Now could he have used better wording in his comment sure he could just like Bush could have said it better when he said "doctors are practicing their love for women all over the country" when he was speaking of OGBYN's. He sounded like the doctors were all perverts but that's not what he meant and any logical thinking person knew that.

What does Bush have to do with this conversation? He hasn't even run a campaign since 2004! The Democrat-sycophant media was constantly dragging out Bushisms back in the day while ignoring every Kerryism and other screwups by liberal candidates.

I have to admit to not having watch Al Sharpton's show regarding the Biden gaffe (I have tried to watch Sharpton's show in the past and couldn't stand it for more than a couple of minutes). The source where I saw that Al was upset was Yahoo! News, and that source is far from being a Republican water carrier. Anyway, the political ads now sure seem to contain a lot of misinformation (even the ones in my own local election area in the far northern Detroit suburbs). They can't wait to build another bridge over the Detroit River to Windsor to waste even more money that a bankrupt city doesn't have!

Calm down, I was only making a comparison as to the way people in politics mean to say one thing and it comes out sounding like something else. Bush was only an example. I could have used any politician on any side. When Obama meant to say he had visited 47 states and there were 3 more states he hasn't visited he made a mistake just like every politician makes and said 57 states instead of 47 states and Fox had it on and youtube has videos on it and the republicans said he didn't even know how many states we had. It's pathetic. It's funny to watch because normal people know these guys only made mistakes but the stupid poeple actually believe Obama didn't know how many states there are or that Rick Perry can't count to three. People make mistakes.
I feel the same way about Hannity, Beck and Limbaugh. After 30 seconds with those to people I feel like barfing. If only one of them had more then a high school diploma I'd feel more comfortable listening to them.

A snarky remark maybe but here is a snarky remark about Limbaugh. When someone asked his mother why Rush dorpped out of college she stated, "because he was failing every subject he took". That tells me I will not listen to someone who was failing "every subject they were taking". But it does strick me funny why conservatives follow those under educated people like Beck, Hannity and Limbaugh. Maybe they feel more comfortable around the more simple people.
I said I watched Sharpton waiting for my baseball games which usually comes on at 7:05. He comes on at 6pm and I watch the local news from 6pm to 6:30 pm so I don't watch much but I do watch sometimes not every day but personally I like Maddow if I'm going to watch anyone or Smarconish when he fills in for Mathews who I'm not a fan of. Smarconish is a conservative radio host from Philidelphia but he isn't a radical he's a common sense republican in other words he's a dinosaur, almost extenct. If I do watch Fox it would likely be Shep Smith. He's pretty good.

Since you didn't say anything about Sharpton's education beyond H.S., that implies that you didn't bother to check it out. I did, and it seems that he attended Brooklyn College for a time (could not find a specific duration nor course of study he pursued) and dropped out.

I have also heard Rush explain his personal history many times and he honestly declares that he was not a good performer in the school-type environment during his youth, but he had always had an overwhelming desire to be on the radio and broadcasting his personal views.
