Why weren't all the GOP Presidential Candidates asked to produce there Birth Certificates?

Manuel 2012/01/18 19:58:25
Yes, we have a right to see their Birth Certificates
No, we don't have a right to see it because it's none of our freakin business were these guys were born.

Well here we are at another presidential election year....so where is the proof that these GOP candidates are U.S. citizens? Why aren't they showing us the public their B.C.? Why don't they post it on the web? We citizens have a right to see both.... long and short forms.

The reason they aren't asking is that all of the GOP candidates are white.

Why don't every Candidate show their Birth C. since its become a big deal. Maybe that would end the discussion about it. I really don't care, but some people really are serious about the issue.

.... if I recall, there was a Candidate in late 18 or early 19 hundreds who had a citizenship problem and I believe he was proven to have been born in Canada ... name eludes me.

You saying just anyone can step up, throw their hat in the ring and prove nothing if questioned ?

You're referring to Chester A. Arthur. He was born in Northern Vermont (or at least that's what both he and his family said) but was accused for a time of actually having been born in Canada. There was nothing to prove anything one way or the other (it was in the 1830s so there were no verifiable printed records) and the issue was dropped.

Remember, Arthur did not run for President. He became President when James Garfield died, so he probably wasn't investigated too deeply during the 1880 campaign.

Interestingly, one thing this is verified is that when Arthur was born, his father was a citizen of Ireland. He later became a naturalized US citizen when Arthur was a teenager. No one mentioned his father's citizenship in connection with Presidential eligibility, since, as we all know, parental citizenship is irrelevant to the question.

.... Thank You for the info.

Sadly, many are attempting to point to his father's birthplace and home country as a diversion, when we all know that story .... as you indicated it's the birthplace of the guy running for the Position, not the parents.

By your words, according to you too. You call him black, too.

And McCain was asked for his bc, even though he didn't become president. Also Bush had to show his, and Reagan. But the last sitting president that had to produce his bc was Nixon.

I don't expect you do believe me, but I do expect you to check it out.
You once told me you never lie, hate to see that phrase bite 'ya.

George Bush never had to produce a birth certificate, nor did Reagan, Nixon, Carter, Ford, Clinton, Bush, Johnson, Kennedy, Eisenhower, Truman, Roosevelt, Hoover, Coolidge, Harding, Wilson, Taft, Roosevelt, McKinley, Cleveland, Harrison, Arthur, Garfield, Hayes, Grant, Johnson, Lincoln, Buchanan, Pierce, Fillmore, Taylor, Polk, Tyler, Harrison, or Van Buren (the earlier Presidents were eligible by virtue of the "citizen at the time of adoption" clause).

As for McCain, yes, after much prodding he did produce what is purportedly his birth certificate. No "experts" analyzed it. No court challenges were launched. He said "here it is" and that was that.

But then again, he was white.
  • Doc ProudPr... 2012/01/28 22:10:11
    Doc
Bush, did, and so did Reagan. And Nixon had to show his while he was in office.

You didn't check it out, did you?
  • ProudPr... Doc 2012/01/28 22:12:50

No President or Presidential candidate has EVER shown the public their birth certificate prior to the 2008 race. Nor has any President or candidate even been ASKED to produce a birth certificate prior to 2008. If you believe differently, then please post a copy of Ronald Reagan's birth certificate NOW.
