WHY WE NEED A REVOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHY WE NEED A REVOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In a society consumed with suckling on the nipples of nonsense known as Snooki, we are in desperate need of a revolution.
This revolution needs to occur not only physically, but most especially
mentally. Many recent protests throughout the world have led to
historic paradigm shifts of thought and leadership. We have seen the
results of uprisings from Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and Syria.
Citizens of these countries reached a boiling point that tyranny and
greed could no longer control. They aspire(d) to live in a world, more
representative, of what we.. here in America …often take for granted.
Peaceful and violent demonstrations, both combined to help usher in the
dawn of a new age of freedom never experienced before. In a country used
to freedom, we are also in need of a revolution.
We live in the big house on the hill of democracy, but many folks
here find it hard to be free as they battle concerns of poverty,
racism, class warfare and corporate greed. We have a Congress
that is self-absorbed and so deeply embedded in the bowels of corporate
fat cats that it’s no wonder that common folks keep getting the short
end of their shit. We have seen spirited protests that have mostly
remained non-violent in places such as Wisconsin and Ohio.
People in these states were protesting attacks on unions that have been
vital to some of our most needed professions. Police, firefighters and
teachers and their many supporters, gathered in unison to be heard
peacefully. People in our country are under constant pressure to feed
their families, maintain adequate health-care, and keep a roof over
their head. In this era of unprecedented foreclosures, it is truly a
miracle that more violence hasn’t already occurred. Unless we
experience a revolution in our mindset, we may be near our own boiling
point, as the water in the pot is threatening to flow over its sides.
We need a revolution, and it needs to be in our minds before it
reaches our fists. We need to regain compassion and civility for our
neighbors. Their property, loved ones, and feelings…need to be regarded
with as much respect, as we expect, for our own interests. We need to
look at those less fortunate and not reduce their humanity because they
have one less loaf of bread than we do. Instead of worshipping the
scripted facade of “reality television”, we need to learn how to be the
playwrights, directors, and performers in our own version of this very
real world. Snookie’s titties may be big, but they are hardly “real” and
certainly not revolutionary.
