Why Obama's Birth Certificate Matters, Especially Now

Yankee Traveler 2012/03/14 09:11:36
By Selwyn Duke

There
was a time when someone could perhaps justify sitting on the fence on
the matter of Barack Obama's birth certificate. There were those on the
left who could chalk doubts about its authenticity up to conspiratorial
internet paranoia. As for the right, there was every reason to worry
about being the victims of an Alinsky-style setup designed to
marginalize opponents. In other words, let the other side double down
on an incredible claim, and then, at the most opportune time (October
surprise?), provide irrefutable evidence to the contrary and make them
look like deluded wackos. So, for a long time, there might have been
reason to watch, wait, and let the wheels of investigation render their
judgment.

That judgment is in, and the time for waiting is over.

With the results
of Maricopa County, AZ sheriff Joe Arpaio's "Cold Case Posse," an
incredible claim has become an incredible situation: a team of
professional investigators, commissioned by a major law-enforcement
agency, has determined that the alleged birth certificate produced by
the president of the United States is a probable forgery.

Process
that for a moment. The regime of the world's most powerful nation -- a
republic that prides itself on adherence to the rule of law -- is
likely peddling a forged document. What say you, citizen?

Note
that I didn't claim that the president isn't natural-born. Rather, I
claim nothing but am only stating a fact: there is now no denying that
the birth-certificate matter warrants further investigation, and it is
time for other law-enforcement agencies and the media to show due
diligence. And I will spell out the possibilities here:

  1. The Arizona investigators are correct.
  2. They are mistaken.
  3. They are lying.

For
the record, I don't believe the last for a moment, but I do want to
cover all the bases. And home plate is this: the answer may be number
one or two, and it's incumbent upon us to find out through further
investigation. And, for those who dislike Sheriff Arpaio, what if the
answer is three? Well, if a major law-enforcement agency is producing
fraudulent evidence for the purposes of damaging a sitting president,
wouldn't that warrant investigation, too? The undeniable, irrefutable
fact here is that there is smoke. And we need to find out who started
the fire.

In
response to these facts, the left will sometimes mount an argument for
why Obama is, in fact, natural-born. But this issue is at the moment
secondary. And about it I will merely state that there are only two
possibilities. First, if the allegedly forged birth
certificate relates to the president's natural-born status, then it's
clear that the Obama administration is concerned about that status. And
what if it doesn't relate to whether the president is natural-born?

Then it relates to something else.

You
don't present a forged a document for no reason. Again, the
undeniable, irrefutable fact here is that there is smoke. And we need
to find out what is feeding the fire.

Remember,
too, that document forgery is a crime. If you were found benefiting
yourself through it, you'd be prosecuted. Should the president be held
to a lower standard?

In
point of fact, on the part of the media and citizenry, he must be held
to a higher one. We're not talking here about some kid who forged an ID
so he could drink at 18 in a bar. This is the most powerful man in the
world, who, it appears, is passing off a forgery for some mysterious --
or not so mysterious -- reason. This mystery needs to be solved.

Also consider the consequences of allowing this alleged high crime to go unanswered. If
Obama is willing to fob off a forgery on the American people, what else
is he capable of? If he gets away with it, what else will he do?
Remember that in every case in history in which a leader amassed more
power for himself by gradually undermining his nation's democratic
system, he had millions of enablers. These were the crowds Cicero spoke
of that cheered "ambitious scoundrel" Julius Caesar as he paved his way
to dictator. These are the "good men" Edmund Burke referred to who do
nothing in the face of evil. Sometimes, of course, they're simply
scared. Other times they may not want to seem like a nutty Chicken
Little saying the sky is falling. Or they may not want to accept that
the sky actually is falling, so they rationalize and dress the naked
emperor with their eyes. After all, when a problem is daunting or
scary, the self-delusion that allows one to ignore it can be appealing.

Most
people also don't want conflict; they may fear a constitutional
crisis. But know that if Obama is peddling a forged document, it may
simply be another example of how we already are in a constitutional crisis. The only question now is whether we're going to fight the fire or continue to fiddle while the Constitution burns.

The left have been caught in various situations like false claims against Republicans in key positions for political gains, criminal charges against activists, voter fraud, but if it's proven that they conspired against the Constitution and the people of the United States with this claim, it would set the world on edge! My guess is there is something rotten in the DNC, and I hope they swing from their balls!

I've heard that the birth certificate issue was invented by obamas handlers to purposefully get people talking about that and not the real issue. According to a Supreme Court definition of natural born citizen in a 1875 case of Minor v. Happersett, obama does not meet the qualifications as a natural born citizen. So even if the birth certificate is real, I personally have questions to it's authenticity, put that aside he is still not eligible. I haven't figured out how to cut and paste so if someone could google the Supreme Court decision on Minor v. Happersett 1875. It's more proof he is not legitement. It states that both parents must be US citizens, obamas father never had US citizenship.

Andrew Briebart did, but they got him out of the way just in time. Sheriff Arpaio seems to be trying, but it's going to take real national media support. And there lies the stumbling block.

All Andrew and the Sheriff can do is try. It will take a statesman or legal organization to take up the evidence they have found and press it.

Why do we continue to allow this joker to dupe us? There is no question that something is mighty wrong with Obama's documents and his background. Why would any President go to so much trouble and expense to hide his documents if there was no reason for hiding them? The mere fact that we haven't vetted the guy after 3-1/2 years of ruling is appalling. Having someone in the White House that we know nothing about is a very scary situation. We don't even know what the guy's name is. We don't have to continue taking it lying down. Electing a person we know for sure is an American citizen (regardless of party) would solve a lot of our problems.

I believe Sheriff Arpaio has brought enough skepticism regarding the birth certificate that more "true" journalists need to dig into this and determine the absolute truth. Will it happen? No. The left will continue to hide everything and much of the right will continue to pooh pooh it for fear of being ridiculed. But... no doubt in my mind... once Barry is out of office... the truth will come out, one way or the other.

Actually, quite a few on the right see this issue as a joke. Here's what the National Review (a very conservative magazine) had to say about the birthers, and Sherifff Joe, "Republicans who have chosen to associate with the birthers have done their party and their country a disservice," the magazine wrote. "And as Sheriff Arpaio settles comfortably into that political mental ward, the same must be said of those Republicans who choose to associate themselves with him more broadly. Those who cannot distinguish between the birthers' flim-flam and the critical questions that face our nation in 2012 will not win and do not deserve to."

The birth certificate is not really the final issue. The real issue is his "Fullbright Scholarship". This is NOT given to US citizens, so how did Obama qualify?

Ok, sounds like you're saying this whole post is a "not real issue", fair enough, as folks like Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter, the National Review, etc. agree with you. So...this issue that Fulbright Scholarships are not given to US citizens...really? Here's a direct quote (and the link) for the Fulbright Scholarship program for U.S. scholars

    "620 SELECTION CRITERIA
    - 621 Personal Factors
    - 621.1 Citizenship
Candidates must be citizens or nationals of the United States of America."

Since that is directly from the application section of the Fulbright website, I'm kind of confused as to your "This is NOT given to US citizens", statement.

    http://fulbright.state.gov/po...

Having said that...you do know that Obama was not a Fulbright scholar?

J, I'd respond to you, but have been blocked. The only way I can discuss this issue with you is by amending an existing comment (which is why I'm commenting in this fashion). We can disagree on this all we'd like, Fulbright offer's 1000's of scholarships (such as the "U.S. Student", "Foreign Student", "U.S Scholar" and "Foreign Scholar" programs) but, since Obama never a received a Fulbright scholarship, what's the point? The only evidence, claiming that he received a Fulbright scholarship, is from a fake AP news report which was released on....wait for it....April Fools day, 2009.

You didn't read all the criteria, did you? This scholarship fund is for US CITIZENS who are studying ABROAD.

If you really want to know the truth (and I really don't think you do)....
What is the Fulbright scholarship program?
"The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government. It is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. The Fulbright Program provides participants-chosen for their academic merit and leadership potential - with the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research, exchange ideas and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns. Grants are available for U.S. citizens to go abroad and for non-U.S. citizens with no U.S. permanent residence to come to the U.S. The Fulbright Program is an important element of the United States' bilateral relationships with countries around the world. U.S. and foreign governments jointly set priorities for the exchanges."

Are you famliar with the Supreme Court decision on Minor v. Happersett 1875, defining what it takes to be a natural born citizen, I would paste it for you but don't know how. It makes a very interesting read. It states both parents must be US citizens at the time of birth. As far as I've been able to find obama sr. was not a US citizen.

One of the things that has always troubled me is how did his mother and grandparents know forty years ahead of time, that he was going to need proof of his birth in Hawaii and have his birth announced in two newspapers in Hawaii? No one has ever offered any proof that the announcements were phony or that the archives of the paper were tampered with. You're thoughts?

It "troubles" you? Yes I suppose it would trouble you, since you clearly WANT to believe bad things about Obama, but clearly you are too reasonable to believe this birther hooey - the absurdity of his parents forging documents 40 years ago in anticipation of his future presidential ambitions is just one more nail in the coffin of birther fantasies, so yes, it should trouble you.

Thanks, I have found the birth'r movement to be very amusing. I watched the live coverage of the Georgia attorney in the Hawaii courtroom when she was declared "Non-Grata". Many birth'rs cite articles in foreign news, like Canada and Russia as supporting the fraud claim but in reality they are just re-posting the articles and discussions that the birthers keep promoting here in the US. When they can answer my original question, I might begin to listen.
