Why is there so much controversy over gay marriage?

its already legal in 8 states and 20 countries. Its no big deal. The sky hasnt fallen in those places. Why do people waste their time and energy trying to stop gay marriage from being legalized as if thats so important? Why does an adult marrying someone of the same sex make so many people uncomfortable? If you believe marriage is between a man and woman thats your opinion, you can marry someone of the opposite sex. What about serious things like jobs and homelessness.

Personally i think the whole idea of marriage is stupid,why do you need a piece of paper to tell someone you love them? But if you believe in it i think you should be allowed to marry who you want. Who cares if they're the same sex? it's their relationship not yours. making it none of your business who they marry. You have a problem with it? don't marry someone of the same sex. Simple as that

I really don't care what other's do, but marriage is to be between a man and a woman.
