Why is Rick Santorum going soft on Satan?

In a 2008 speech, Rick Santorum blamed all of America's problems on
Satan. More recently, Santorum has blamed all of America's problems on Barack Obama. What's up with this flip-flop? Is Santorum's change in position a calculated move to court the Satanist vote?

how about the idea that if there was such a thing as "Satan", Santorum would be in league with it because of his bigotry. How about he put the blame for America's problems on the GOP and the obstructionist Tper's in the House for not passing bills that would help solve the problem, and on the GOP conservative economic policies that got us into the mess in the first place.

Santorum hasn't went soft on Satan he is trying desperately to make his weak minded followers believe Obama is Satan and this is obvious in his rhetoric!

With the economy improving the Cons have no ammunition so social issues and religious rhetoric is all they have. Santorum has a terrible record as a fiscal conservative so he is even more disadvantaged and is left with just a religious rant.

He now has the church evangelists out stumping for him and I fully expect the crazy church ladies to endorse him!

Do you even understand the concept of Satan? I understand moral relativists like to poke fun at the personification, but then when this happens, it seems to cause a drift from acknowledging ideas such as evil and right. And, when those ideas get blurred, we then have the state we are in. For many of us, it's a bit disheartening knowing there are so many like this.

Morals ARE relative. That's why in some countries it's perfectly fine to, say, smoke marijuana and in the US it's considered wrong.

Morality is created by the society withing which you live. If you act against the prescribed code of behavior, you are acting immorally.

I don't know why we're talking about Satan in a presidential race anyway. Not an issue that I feel needs to be addressed. They ought to come out of their evangelical fog and face the real issues of the day.
