Why is Rhode Island and some other states trying to attract more job-stealing illegal aliens here by offering them in-state tuition at taxpayer expense?

Rick Perry did the same thing in Texas. And Obama is trying to do a lot more on a National scale with the proposed SCHEME Act [a.k.a. "Dream Act"].

The Dream Act would EXACERBATE the problem. In Mexico no doubt there'd be scenarios like this:

"Jose, did you hear what those crazy gringos did?"

"No, Juan. Whassup?"

"They just passed a law that lets our kids go to college. All we gotta do is sneak across the border taking our kids along."

"Madre de Dios! What makes gringos so loco? ... [hollers out] Rosita! Pack our things pronto. We're taking our muchachos to L.A. so they can go to college to be lawyers!"

Why isn't there a "Dream Act" for immigrants who enter our country legally ... or for our own citizens' kids? TRAITORS to our country are trying to attract even more job-stealing illegals here.

There is no theory. Anchor Babies, which is what this law applies to, are LEGAL under our present laws.
Therefore it would be unconstitutional to not allow LEGAL citizens to get in-state tuition. We went thru this a few years ago in Washington.

This is a temp[est in a teapot thing. Those getting the tuition are actually citizens just by being born here in the USA.

Until we do away with Birthright Citizenship, this must continue.

Liberal stupidity, a total lack of common sense, and no idea what the word 'ILLEGAL' means.

i dont understand that. we are boke and they want to help illegals. why not give that free tuition to americans who need training for jobs? they can only be with obama's plan to destroy our economy and they view the illegals as votes for the progressives.

They know that Obama will eventually use an Executive Order to make them legal.
Thus, new votes for the Democrats.

I can't even think of a sensible or reasonable theory.. It is assinine. Well, if they want them, maybe the rest of the country should round up all the illegals and send them to Rhode island, land of the big wallets.
And let the taxes from only the people of Rhode Island pay for the education of all the illegals.

I guess there is no law in Rhode Island.. I always thought illegal meant something. Guess I'll go rob a bank.. no laws in this Obama country. Stupid, stupid stupid.

I WOULD DEARLY LOVE SOMEONE FROM RHODE ISLAND TO EXPLAIN THIS IDIOCY???

Give your head a shake.. THEY CAME HERE ILLEGALLY.. that is breaking our laws...that is like saying "well, if you gave the thief your money then he wouldn't be a thief" Or if " you just died of shock then the guy trying to kill you would not be a murderer" Jeez, think about it!

LOL. Okay, I get what you mean but still. Read the whole flowchart to at least see where I'm coming from. And it's not like illegal immigrants are taking precious,super-desirable jobs that everyone wants to do. Do you know of any legal citizens who'd want low paying not-so-great jobs like landscaping, dishwashing, etc.?

Besides, the US itself was pretty much founded on some guys barging in and kicking out people who were already there, or taking land from some other country whether by buying or by fighting. True Illegal immigration is wrong, but are we in the best position to talk? Juts putting it out there.

    ill help you pack

My wife's a Hispanic immigrant. Her maiden name's Brazalote. She has no sympathy for illegals expecting to be given the same things she earned by several years of efforts and compliance with the law on her part. Can you blame her?

P.S. Listen to what a Latino woman who immigrated legally to the U.S has to say on the subject:
