Why is it that many people in the USA, while distrustful of government and media, are prepared to accept, without question, deliberate misinformation and deception about the Lockerbie bombing, trial and compassionate release under Scots Law of al-Megrahi?

There are many unanswered questions about the whole issue of the Lockerbie bombing from the actual event to the present day. Following the bombing the press was strongly encouraged to stress the PFLP-GC/Iran connection in its coverage. The conduct of the trial at Camp Zeist was not a normal criminal trial under Scots Law. The hysterical call for the release of Megrahi's medical records reveals the utter hypocrisy of the Labour Party because it is well aware that such action is illegal due to the requirements of the Data Protection Act (the Labour Party, through its MPs at Westminster sought to have personal medical records included in the Data Protection Act). The only logical conclusion is that Megrahi was not the bomber - so who was?
