Why is it fashionable to hate the wealthy right now?

People love waving signs.

Don't think people hate wealth just selfish greedy cold or corrupt.I mean there are many wealthy people that dislike that too

I didn't know it had become fashionable to hate someone for their success.

People think they are oh-so-pious when they are talking about that evil wealthy person, (regardless of the fact that he EARNED his money.) They think they are showing how much they care for the "little guy" and how they feel everything should be "equal" ( which essentially means getting a share of something you did not earn) so they look like little saints. In reality… All it is SPITE and ENVY. Like all the flat chested girls in high school who hated the gal with big boobs(although it wasn't anything to do with her measurements, honest, she was just a mean girl) but as soon as they invented implants, the jealous ones all went out and got themselves some boobs. Same thing.

The nice part about America was always the fact that you could come here and make your fortune and no one could take it away from you. Now you're some kind of an evil person if you manage to get wealthy. Nobody's entitled to anything they didn't earn and people have a right to keep their money. It's nothing more than childish spite and envy to hate rich people. Instead, we should be copying what they did to make their fortune ( unless of course it's illegal or they exploited someone) and do the same thing. Such individuals should put the time and energy they devote to whining about rich people into working for a living. Maybe they'd worked their way up in a company or invent something and get rich to one day too. Methinks they'd rather whine.

hate is not the right word... FOCUS is better.

their standard of living has gone up while the middle and lower class standard has gone down... the income gap is widening and inequality is getting worse.

this is the path to 3rd world status and we are a self correcting republic... this is how it works.

It's easier to demonize someone for succeeding than to take responsibility for your own success. This is the rationale behind taking more away from the rich. It is the thought that if someone wants to work hard and make it big, they should automatically share everything because they should not have more than others simply because they have more drive. It's a jealousy mindset.

Liberals are lazy and want hand outs...that's why they have nothing. So they want to steal from the successful people (somehow they believe it's their right). So they figure if they make being rich evil, then everyone will want to be mediocre. Misery loves company I guess

Dislike makes more sense than respecting people simply because they have inherited a fortune from their parents. Respect must be earned.

Because the wealthy are telling us that it's the right thing to do. We have rich entertainers, rich politicians, and activists with aspirations of being rich making a lucrative career out of class warfare.

Myguess is a few reasons........
1) the liberals success with the dumbing down of the children in education or lack there of and turning schools into indoctrination centers.......
2) The loss of a "free press" in America that's been replaced by the communist er I mean socialist, err pregressive propaganda machine called the msm............
3) It's always easier to blame someone elsefor your lot in life rather than except the responsibilty for it yourself..............

I think it's because some people are jealous that they have money to enjoy life with and some people think they should share it .

Because the NWO controlled media tells us to, and the ignorant dumb-masses lap it up. Next they'll be telling us to hate private property, then gun ownership. After that they'll tell you to hate those who embrace liberty and that they should be rounded up and put in re-education camps!

Ironically, hating the rich is a very good way to ensure you never become one of them, because it makes you subconsciously sabotage any possibilities of wealth that may arise in your life. After all, you hate those people, why would you want to become someone you hate?

Back in the early 2000's, a man decided that the wealthy should share their wealth with the poor and all the trouble would go away. Then the people he bewitched who followed him with the idea and started to dislike the wealthy because they wouldn't share. Toward the end of this story, jobs went away and the devil grabbed people by their toes and made them into terrible creatures who rave about the unfairness....an a new fad was born.
