Oh, I agree, Shigyrl! They get a more "elite" package. Really nice, huh? So I guess this reform isn't good enough for them? But it's okay for us "poor" folk.

Not just the poor but for anyone who is not quite wealthy enough to pay straight out of pocket for their healthcare. Which can include people with 6 figure salaries.

It's a mess. I cannot foresee this all working out smoothly. What disturbs me is that we have someone like Fidel Castro applauding our own elected officials...the same man that Kennedy wanted "taken out". Yuck.

Because our dumbass, ill-informed citizens didn't insist that congress ratify the 28th Amendment which states that every law applied to the citizens must apply equally to our senators and representatives, and every law that applies to our senators and representatives must apply equally to the citizens. Instead they watched the dog and pony show called healthcare reform debate. There shouldn't have evn been a debate until the 28th amendment was ratified .....but noooooooooo. Fools! The whole lot of ya!

Members of congress (senators and representatives, and their direct staff) must buy insurance from the health insurance exchange when it opens in 2014. Here is a link from a POLITICO story that explains this in its first paragraph. http://www.politico.com/news/...

Now, this I don't like. I understand that the President deserves an on-call doctor, since he controls the codes to our nukes and is the commander-in-chief, and perhaps anyone who is on the top of that list, but congressmen and women and senators deserve to be subject to ANYTHING and EVERYTHING they pass. That way they're responsible in their decisions.

Please read page 65 of the health care bill. http://docs.house.gov/rules/h... It says, in plain English, that members of congress (that means, representatives, and senators), and their staffers, MUST buy insurance from the exchange.

Here we go, page 156 of H.R. 3590 clearly explains in pretty simple English that members of congress and their staff must participate in the exchange.

The bill says in plain English that Congressional members and their staffers will be forced to buy insurance through the exchange. Instead of badmouthing Media Matters why don't you look at the text of the bill itself. It is on page 65 of the bill. Don't claim the bill exempts all government employees, when the bill clearly states that members of congress must buy through the exchange.
