Why Employers Will Dump Health Insurance

I’m blue in the face saying this, too. So for those of you who have heard it and understand it, please indulge me. If you’re a small business, if you are a corporation, a major corporation… Let me put it a different way. If you are an employee of a small business or big company, and you have your health insurance via your employment. The president went out there today and said (paraphrased), “Nothing’s changed. You get to keep your doctor. If you like your plan, you get to keep it.”

No, and here’s why.

What was upheld today was the concept that you must buy health insurance or pay a fine for it, just not under the Commerce Clause. And the way that was arrived at was a tax on behavior. If you refuse to buy, there is a tax. Now, as the law is written, the tax for not buying health insurance is much cheaper than the cost of a policy. So if you work for a business, large or small, that wants to save money — and which business alive today doesn’t because the economy? If that business has an opportunity for the next year or two, maybe three…

Yes they will, it's cheaper to pay a penalty than to keep the insurance for the employees. All these people that think this healthcare law is so great are going to get a huge surprise one day.

The house can stop this, as they can all illegal thefts of freedom and liberty. Simply defund the law, and boom, it is no more. Just that simple. All this hooplah about repealing is nothing but a show. Remove the financing, and the law is null, plain and simple.

What does it matter who says the words, they are true. It's common sense.

As you say, ""Now, as the law is written, the tax for not buying health insurance is much cheaper than the cost of a policy." However, I submit that the cost differential ensures that a business will always opt for the least cost solution. There is no incentive to do otherwise. His employees are covered and payroll taxes cover the rest of the bill. Less revenue simply means that health care services will be rationed accordingly.

Pandora is alive and well in Washington, DC.

AND ONE OF THE huge surprises will be that they have rationed health care and a huge problem finding a Doctor who will look after them as many doctors are going to opt to get out of "doctoring" based on their set fee for service as dictated by obama.. we have already been told in our small community that most doctors here will not be seeing medicaid and medicare patients.. unless of course they go to the EMERGENCY wards.. (how's that different??) There will be so much red tape to get professional care (getting referrals) and the government will be setting limits on health service provider fees so those professionals will get more scarce as time goes by.. this is a disgusting mess.. and nothing anyone wants.. It also does have the "death panels" as Sarah brought to light.. because the government will dictate who gets services and who doesn't.. old people won't.. anyone with on going medical needs won't, etc.
