Why don't we tax poor people more?

And I disagree with "but we should tax them a little bit more still".

That stated, I now have a question for you... WHY CAN'T GOVERNMENTS SPEND WITHIN THEIR MEANS? WHY IS IT NEVER ENOUGH MONEY FOR THEM, WHEN WE ARE ALREADY TAXED MORE THAN IN OUR ENTIRE HISTORY OF THIS NATION EXISTING? WHEN IS ENOUGH GOING TO BE ENOUGH? CUTTING SPENDING, AND NOT JUST WITHIN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, IS THE ONLY SOLUTION TO OUR CURRENT FISCAL PROBLEMS. TAXING THE POOR INTO OBLIVION IS NOT THE SOLUTION, IT IS THE PROBLEM!

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries, then
Tax his tears.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers,

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids (I PERSONALLY DISAGREE WITH THIS LAST LINE INSINUATING THAT’S A WOMAN’S PLACE BUT YOU GET THE POINT - IT ONLY TOOK ONE PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD TO BRING IN ENOUGH MONEY TO PROVIDE FOR HIS FAMILY, NOT BOTH PARENTS POSSIBLY WORKING TWO OR MORE FULL/PART TIME JOBS TO DO IT AS IT IS FOR THE VAST MAJORITY OF AMERICANS TODAY!).
